I don't get it.

Jerry wants to win as much as anyone. Sure, he makes mistakes but writing the guy a letter?

It's in another thread or two where people were wondering how to get him stuff.

I've never written one myself, but have to admit the thought did cross my mind after yesterday.

I honestly doubt Jones would even read them, and even if he did he wouldnt care what we think.

If you want Jerry to read it make sure you write it on a hundred dollar bill... or your PSL agreement!

...anyone have a PSL agreement I can photo copy because Jerry is not getting a dime from me!

Absolutely he wants to win and that's a great thing. But his ego is getting in the way. Is it coincidence that the two times he's hired strong coaches the organization has turned around? Maybe it is, but I don't think so.

Maybe this will blow over in a week, but yesterday may have finally been the straw that broke the camel's back. I mean, have you ever heard of someone protesting outside of Valley Ranch before? And it's not because we lost. We have had great teams that lost in the past. 25 teams will NOT win the Super Bowl this year. I think it's because of what the organization has become, with the lack of character and heart and the apparent incompetence not only of the egotistical players but the coaching staff.

Will a letter do anything? Probably not, but it won't hurt and you never know. If mail starts arriving in sacks and merchandise and ticket sales fall, that's delivering the only message we can. After that, it's up to Mr. Jones.

Jerry only cares about his ego, after that it is the Cowboys. If Jerry cared as much about winning as much as he tries to fool people into thinking he cares about winning, he would put that galaxy sized ego behind him and get a real football guy as GM to run this team. Jerry is the dumbest GM in football.

The maddness we are going thru happened to my favorite soccer (football for everyone else) team. The owner talked too much and didnt help the team do any good. Well game after game after game, the stadium was half empty at most. This year he went out and invested in a few players and is still looking. Point being, its the wallet that hurts them most..

Well said Mesaholic and right on the mark. I can relate trying to watch this debacle of a team with my 10 year old son. It's disheartening that my son can't experience the history and tradition that this team should represent; it's sad how far we have fallen after laying a solid foundation for the future.

I posted in another thread that I won't buy anymore tickets or merchandise until I see more from these players. I was at the Pittsburgh game two weeks ago and the Philly game yesterday and it was a disgraceful display of football that I paid good money to see. Maybe I'm way off the mark but I truly believe Jerry had no choice but to bring a Parcell's type coach to Dallas to bring some legitimacy to this organization so he can get his new stadium approved and funded. Now that the stadium is out of the way, Jerry can just continue to do things his way, welcoming the circus atmosphere for marketing purposes, until the fans speak up with their wallets that this type of undiciplined effort and "me first" attitude is not acceptable.

Welcome to the board and post more often!

He has a funny way of showing it.

If I wanted to win as much as anyone, I wouldn't hire a HC that's been HC four different times and still hasn't won a playoff game.

I think Howie Long said it best after the game (I am paraphrasing) that "Jerry is really just interseted in marketing the cowboys brand, and and not necessarily winning games".

Make sense to me, with his "any publicity is good publicity" attitude (IE Hardknocks, Pacrat, TO, Tank, etc). He's making money hand over fist and has a new stadium under the current model.

The only thing that will get his attention would be slipping merch sales, tickets, and advertising revenue. Until then...

I absolutely agree. It's fine to come here every day to complain, but we owe to ourselves to do what we can and that is through denying the organization our dollars until meaningful cultural change takes place.

Jerry wants to win as long as it's his way. The problem now is that Jerry's painted himself into a real corner in that getting rid of Wade would only confirm his error in hiring him in the first place. So instead, we keep Wade and it's Jerry that's going to take the players "out to the woodshed" which further serves to undermine the authority of his HC. That's why the players don't respect Wade and don't give him 100% effort even though the guy has backed his players 100% of the time, including in todays press conference. It's a horrible cycle that Jerry created with no end in sight and another year wasted.

And the funny thing is that Wade talks about changing. He's been coaching football for 30 years and has been the head coach of four teams and he finally comes to this conclusion? Color me unimpressed and unconvinced.

A 60-something year old man with 30 years in the league as a "player's coach" cannot become the second coming of Lombardi and not have the players giggling behind his back, that is unless he shows one of them where the asthma field is. Maybe if somebody gets cut in the middle of practice but until then...this looks so weak as to be almost childish.

My personal opinion is that Wade is not fired today because either: (1) the situation is so screwed up Jerry truly does not know what to do; and/or (2) this is really about Garrett getting one more year to prove himself as last year's Garrett and not this year's Garrett. If Jason has a good year, Jerry simply does not renew Wade's contract and hires Jason as HC. Only if they go deep in the playoffs does Jerry have a dilemna, and he will welcome that dilemna. If they are mediocre again next year, Jerry cleans house.

Yep. Welcome to 1998.

As for Wade, I heard him say he needed to come up with a plan.
Wow, ya think? After two years as HC and three decades in the league it's dawned on him to come up with a plan?

Brilliant!
