#1 Minnesota sucks they had a very easy schedule, and you guys have been saying this all week as well.

#2 Baltimore has been getting better as the season has progressed, while philly has just gotten worse and worse.

#3 You should warn your own fellow fans, you have to win aswell in a similar game.

true but do not count out the upset. The biggest example i have that is the most recent is last year when in the final game all Buffalo had to do was beat Pittsburgh at home and they were in. Pittsburgh was playing second and third stringers and they still lost

Come one, Minnesota is a fraud. Their wins came against the Packers, Lions, Saints, Rams, Browns and Giants.

Their only quality win against New York came on a fluke afternoon where they returned a punt, kickoff and interception for a TD to win 24-21.

Crappy team or not... fluke or not...

A win's a win, kid. Playoff ranking is a game of numbers and the more out of 16 you have, the better. Nobody gives a rats behind how they win.

You're playing on the road against a division rival...we aren't.

It's not the same...especially for your team.

The deadskins couldn't get near 35 points in Dallas or NY and you won't at the Linc either.

anything could happen.

Kind of like St. Lous throwing for over 300 yards again next week and pulling an upset.

I'm curious Bufford (still can't get used to Wheat), is there a part of you that worries the winning streak has to end at some point and the most crucial time of the season is upon you?

The Skins are hot. No doubt about it, but every streak ends sooner or later.

of course I worry. I think that given the right situation, anything could happen.

Bad bounces, an injury, just fate.

However, I think after watching the highlights of the Philly/Cards game. If there is any game we should be able to win with just running the ball, and solid/safe Defense. Its this one. They are down to their 3rd string QB and RB.

Don't you worry that St. Louis could shock you with Holt and Bruce on while being covered by Glenn?

I sure do.

Both the teams we face are beat up. I just never trust winning streaks. No idea why. I love them when we're on one, but I always think in the back of my mind that it could end right here.

Both our teams need the defenses to put the clamps on this week. Personally, I'd like a 3rd shot at you in the playoffs. Hard to beat a team 3 times in one season. I doubt the Cowboys players would agree with me though. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe they'd welcome it.

If Dallas had lost, and you guys were out. I'd be even more worried.

But, I think that this team is doing a decent job of not looking past their next game. Especially when they really NEED the game. Atl is out, Minny is out.

Lets be honest, the Skins aren't likely to make any noise in the playoffs, because we don't beat good teams on the road.

But, is Dallas spending the weak getting ready for their own game? or are they trying to figure out who needs to lose so they have a chance....etc, etc?

Philly KNEW that AZ with their backup QB was going to throw a lot, because they have no running game. At least we have the option right now.

The Eagles players are spending this week making vacation plans, when you're this banged up. Its not about losing pride. Its about getting out....and thinking about next year. I wouldn't be shocked if Reid gives a lot of rookies and young guys a chance for some game play.....and a lot of Eagle fans don't show up after their New Years Eve parties.....especially if its really cold out.

What decides all these next week is the day and time each of these games are played. New York is in Oakland on Saturday night and should they lose that game, washington will be playing with an added incentive on Sunday: To win the division. It all starts with NY, I guess we have to root for them to win on the road in Oakland against Kerry Collins and the Raiders. Our game on Sunday Night is then dependent on the washington game.... if they beat Philly... then the game is meaningles.

The older wiser Commanders fans are not overconfident. There is a huge difference between our fans who are under 21 compared to the ones that are over 21. I guess this could be said about most fan groups, but when you add in our recent history you beguin to understand why.

The Skin fan who is under 21 really doesn't remember the 1st Gibbs era. At best they only remember the tail end and they were really too young to understand it's significance. They remember and grew up with the Skins of the past 12+ years who really only had 1 good season.

In that 12 year span you guys owned us and we were stagnated in mediocrity at best. That created a young fan group desperate for a playoff team. They want it so bad they can taste it and it is blinding there sense of reality. They have waited a long time to stand on a mountaintop and beat there chests with pride.

The older fans remember what it was like to make the playoffs almost every year during the 80's and early 90's. They have been there and done that. The past 12 years have made them wary of success and very cautious.

Of course I am one of the old farts who knows better. I know anything can happen against the Eagles. As the day draws nearer I have a guarded sense of optimism. However I do like our chances this week. Joe Gibbs's history of having his teams ready and peaking going into December/January games is legendary. He will not allow the players to be overconfident and underestimate the Eagles.

His game plan regardless of who the Qb will be the same. We will want to run the ball 30+ times and control the clock and take a few chances down field when they crowd the box. The power running game is who we are and we are going to sink or swim behind it this week.
