After Tremendous Week 1 Performance, Tony Romo Proves He's Among NFL's Most Valuable
Some may call this overreaching. One single game in a 17-week schedule can’t possibly dictate whether a player will become an MVP candidate. That’s an obvious deterrent to focusing an article on this topic less than a week after the regular season started. I can envision the reaction to a sudden inclusion of one of the most enigmatic quarterbacks into a list that doesn’t even exist yet. It’s kind of like going to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich without checking to see if you have any bread.

With Tony Romo, the bread seems stale. The narrative we have read regarding the Dallas Cowboys quarterback is one that’s about as worn out as the idea of a landline telephone. “He can’t win the big game,” some say. Meanwhile, others have concluded that Romo falters when it counts the most. Like most narratives around the professional world, it’s up to a specific player to prove any falsehoods wrong.
