Even though I HATE the Eagles, imagine their point of view. They've won 13 games and still haven't clinched their division or guaranteed themselves even a home playoff game yet. Meanwhile, Tampa Bay is 8-8 and has clinched the division, gotten a home playoff game and can use next wek as a bye if they choose. I guess winning 5 more games than another team means Jack squat. Yeah I know the "rules".. They need to be changed in the offseason for more fairness.

Bro they came into this season like 31 other teams KNOWING that the top 4 spots goes to the division Champs. Would you be saying this if it was us who won the NEast 8-8 or 8-9? It's happened to us before it is what it is

Divisions in professional sports are stupid in general. The top 4 seeds should be the teams with the 4 best records in each conference, and each conference should play everyone else in the conference once with two rotating out of conference games per year. That’s how you truly determine the best teams in each conference, everyone plays everybody and best record wins out.

Just no.

Teams play completely different teams.

We got to play the horrible AFC South.

Other divisions had to play the AFC East or West.

Schedules are WILDLY uneven in strength.

I do think the playoffs should be more records based. I think winning the division, while it should determine if you make the playoffs, should not determine if you host. I think the division winners still should make the playoffs, but the team with the better winning record gets the home game.

This stuff happens every year. This is the way to make it fair. Divisions make it exciting. Divisions make rivalries. Divisions set up these crazy arse finishes like we are going to have next weekend where the number 1 seed is still up in the air in both the afc and nfc.

5 games different? You're out of your mind. Thats a horribly weak take. The Eagles (and Dallas) are in the NFC EAST. Best division in the league this year.

That's THIS year. Every season is different. Last few years we were killing a horrible division, while the NFC West was a gauntlet.

Rules have to work always, not just when there's an anomaly.

If we didn't choke against the Packers and Jags, we wouldn't have this problem. Only have ourselves to blame.
