Forget what we all think of JJ.

the season is over, lets forget our angst at each other.

You have a squad that woefully under performed.

what are you seeing out of the coaches and players , what do you want to see and releases and sign ons. FA, Draft, whatever, off the couch at this point.

Just staying with the WR corp.

1. I want to see a new coaching staff. I would prefer B. Johnson. I would love another OL coach as well. Would like to see a more physical brand of football in the trenches. We need to have a identity, like we dont have one.
2. Would like to see the run first identity, increase play action, more motion, more creativity personnel wise.
3. Offensively, I feel like we have to address OG, RB, WR. We need to add more skill, youth and competition on OL. I like Brock, Bass but I dont think they are starters. Good depth guys but we see how they were avg vs Bucs who have a tough front 7. I think Guyton needs a full offseason, and Steele needs to be healthy and not rushed back. Steele was solid as a run blocker, struggled in pass pro but just came off injury. Rico had a solid year but we still need more youth and speed to add to the backfield. We need another threat at WR to take attention off Lamb. I like Cooks but hasnt become what I thought he would when we traded for him. He is a FA but Id would resign him for the right price but I dont think he was used will scheme wise.
4. Defensively, I feel like we have to address DT, DE, CB and LB. We need to resolve the issue at running support at DT. Parsons needs another DE who can pass rush from the other side. Williams was supposed to be that but he got injured and I just dont know if he will be that guy. With Overshown having that unfortunate injury, leaves Marist and Clark and an older Kendricks. Marist has been good, Clark was a healthy scratch quite a few times. Kendricks isnt bad but we havent had a healthy talented presence at MLB for a long time. Bland is on his last year next year, Diggs is having surgery and Lewis is a FA.
5. I love Martin and Tank but its time to move on.
6. The rest can fall where it may.

Nice summary and seems reasonable.
However, we know how the FO thinks and does.

I prefer to move on from most of the coaching staff and trainers and conditioning staff. Yes need an offensive minded, younger innovative HC (not Moore) so Ben Johnson is a good choice. Or if a defensive minded HC (not Zimmer) they still need that young innovative OC.

Too many holes to fill. So even picking from 11 to 17, it doesn't matter, they just go BPA as usual. Supposedly it is a weaker draft. So even a slight trade down, pick in the 20's, and pick up an extra 2nd and maybe a 3rd.

My guess is they look to patch the OL from options already in house, and maybe add a mid round draft pick for competition. If they do go that way I would love to see them really invest in the WR position this offseason to give the offense a bump. I wouldn't hate double dipping and looking to sign a Stephon Diggs for a shorter deal coming off injury and then going right back to using one of the top two picks on a WR.

For the rest of the season I would love to see Flournoy get a heavy portion of the snaps to try and evaluate what you have there.

Then you go into 2025 with

Starters: Lamb, Diggs, 1st round rookie

Reserves: Tolbert, Flournoy, and maybe Turpin if hes cheap enough to resign?

I'm assuming McCarthy is coming back, its no secret hes a pass heavy guy, why not give him the weapons to stress defenses through the air?

One of several things I don't like about a Jones leadership group is the political game they play. For instance, Ryan Flournoy sat the bench all season, and I think he should've been fighting for playing time with Tolbert by mid-season, however, if that was to ambitious how about playing over Jalen Brooks? How about if numbskull FO guy knew what he had in Flournoy the team might still had a 4th round pick because I still haven't seen any indication Mingo is better than Flournoy. You might think I'm crazy but with CeeDee shut down I want to see Jalen Moreno-Cropper get some real reps, real targets.
1. CeeDee
2. Tolbert
3. Turpin
4. Flournoy
5. Moreno-Cropper
6. Mingo
7. Brooks
This is how I rank then moving forward.

Offseason  Additions:
1) A new WR coach who can teach from the ground up and will give young guys reps, Cowboys supposed to be draft n develop but bury young WRs down roster.
2) Find a WR2 via FA, Trade (cringe), or thru an endorsement by the new OC, WR coach believing they can develop someone in the group into a WR2. Also, you have the draft.

All the Cowboys need is one more WR and he just has to be solid, not a superstar, especially with a better schematic plan for these WRs and the passing game. I don't think the WR group is as busted as some ppl think, I just need to see more Flournoy n JMC before I go there.

No matter who the new HC/OC or HB expect the same anemic offense going 3 and out and the Star of the show being our FG kicker.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ............Someone give CD a medal of honor on how he manages with all the dink and dunks to get over 1000 yard receiving every season.

So you realize finally, it’s the play calling dink and dunk. I don’t like the scheme either. But if that’s what’s working that’s what you do. Cooper Rush couldn’t even beat Carolina to make it to the playoffs. Four years we finally miss it. Thank you you back up. But you’re really expect different. It’s Cooper Rush not Prescott back there.

It’s kind of simple actually
Figure out which scheme you want to run
. And then get the personnel that fit that scheme.
It’s football 101

Ben Johnson is the belle of the ball. That being said what exactly makes Dallas the ideal suitor for Ben Johnson? They pay coaches a pittance of what HCs make in the league. The HC is generally a figurehead and neutered. After all that the ideal person will need to put up with the micromanagement of Jerry.
