Everyone complains about the coaches not being able to win without Romo, but I think the obvious thing is that Romo is just that good and has carried us to any success we have had in the past 9 years. If not for Romo, this team would have been absolutely pitiful for the past decade. With him we have had some very good years and he has covered so many shortcomings this team has had.

I know there are still some Romo detractors out there, we have seen rise up again since Dak's great preseason rare their ugly heads.

While the Oline can dominate at times, we see them dominated over and over again, like yesterday in run blocking, like their inability to do well in short yardage and Free getting a pass because Romo makes people miss all the time.

The WR's let us down time and time again by not making the big catches. Williams has brain farts, Cole droops a few, Dez drops his TD while the Giants rookie brings in the tough TD pass. I mean, Romo made Laurent Robinson a millionaire for peats sake.

Romo is the glue, he is the playmaker, he is what makes Dallas even in the conversation. He has been making play after play, year after year, after the D folds once again, Romo brings them back. It really is a shame he does not get the credit he deserves!

What is their record wth out Romo again? Belicheat went into Arizona with his second string QB and an O Line in tatters and you saw the result. 1000% coaching matters.
Plus no Gronk.

That's kind of what happens when the passing game plan with back up QBs is "hey can you just.. Ya know... Be Romo?"

The passing game has largely just been Romo buying time like a backyard pickup game and waiting for the DBs to get tired.

When you don't have a real coach your obviously going to struggle. Romo's talent makes up for the lack of coaching. When Romo is gone and Little Jerry is still "coaching" we're going to be the Cleveland of the NFL. 8-8 will be a milestone season once Romo is gone. We'll be consistently 4-12 and 3-13 with Little Jerry at the helm and no Romo to carry us.

Romo is great, but his body may no longer be willing...

Coaching is key but you can't discount what Romo has meant to this team. They don't have a dink and dunk game plan when he is and in fairness to Dak he shouldn't either. Roadless Romo is the leader and glue and you can't ignore the record without him.

As much as I hate Belicheck, you cannot deny his coaching ability. But in comparison look what happened in INDY the year they lost Peyton - Playoffs to 1st pick in the draft.

Exactly. A harsh reality the Garrett nut huggers cannot ignore.

I think at this point we're so Romo centric, we're so nuanced in his skill set that we seem to be incapable of implementing anything else and that's not a good thing because we are on the back nine with Tony.

The game plan was just awful yesterday. We have to stop playing not to lose. Nobody would've beat Dak up if he tried to make some plays down the field or over the middle if he got picked off, but we are so risk averse. You could've closed your eyes and imagined Weeden back there because it was the same thing. What's a shame is Dak is everything Weeden isn't.

I don't think we ever once got into a 22 formation and tried to power run the ball. We went out of 11 and tried to beat the one or two extra men in the box, it was never going to happen. We never once went play action from under center in off-set I formations that I can remember. Sure those are tougher reads but they can be quick reads that can lead to explosive gains.

Only two QB's threw more than Dak yesterday. What? Didn't we learn our lessons from those 8-8 years with Romo throwing 45 times a game? We talked about imposing our will in 2014 but we didn't even try yesterday.

You cannot win in the NFL with a 5-yard average - yet we almost did and maybe even should've so we can take that as a positive.

The team has shown to be very reactionary and they will hear the criticism and they will open it up next week but it probably cost us a game to learn our lesson.
