There are always a few topics that fall by the wayside as the season progresses, some positive, some negative. Just my 0.02 on what a few of these might be at this point:

1) Reduced penalties. The last 2 games have been much better than the first three contests.

2) Jason Hatcher- 2 great offseasons and training camps, then very little in both the preseason games (last year he was limited by the
infamous Brian Stewart-induced hammy problem) and the real contests.

3) What appeared to be increased press coverage yesterday at times, which seemed to always yield pretty decent results. Jones
continues to get his hands all over passes in these situations but just can't seem to secure them.

4) Holt's big KO return has been discussed, but what about what appears to be sub-standard blocking on kickoff returns lately on our
end?

It's been 2 games. I wouldn't call it a trend yet. But I think teams have adjusted their coverage cuz of something we were doing in the first 2 games. Our ST coach hasn't adjusted to that adjustment yet.

i'm amazed at when we have alot of penalties,we have won big.we correct those mental mistakes,we play poorly.

We had 11 penalties vs the Eagles and won by 4 points. I wouldn't call that "Big".

1. That is a nice stat to see go down.
2. I have given up on seeing him start unless Spears/Canty goes down with an injury. I think he is a pretty good pass rusher, for a 3-4 defensive end, but I guess he is not good enough defending the run.
3. I hope we include more press coverages as the year goes on. Henry and Jenkins has the size to press the receiver and Adam Jones came from a defense which used press coverage a lot. Then when Newman gets healthy, wow.
