Former Broncos starter gets raked over the coals after signing with new team

Since when has the media done this? It has been many years, and there are not many left that actually do speak the truth. Most are biased to some degree.

About the only thing the media gets right lately, are the ones telling it like it is about Jerry not seeming to care to build a team that can actually compete beyond the WC round.
he's not really "media" though. his whole thing is just data and analytics.

I don't put much into the video, anyone can make a compilation of bad plays if a guy has enough snaps, but the numbers in combination with the video is pretty telling. Last in yards after contact. 3rd from last in yards over expected. Even if there were some blocking issues in the video Williams showed next to nothing in terms of breaking a tackle, quickness to bounce outside, or even lower his shoulders and power though for a Zeke Elliott special.

Obviously we have the hope that he simply wasn't healthy last season and another offseason will help get him back to form, but looking at his tape from last season should temper expectations and show why RB early is crucial in this years draft.

100% agree - if you’re trying to show a RB doesn’t have it, I would think you would show video of him no gaining positive yards when the blocking was average or better. It seemed as if every play EXCEPT the slip, he got hit at or behind the LOS. And, I by no means am suggesting he should be RB1 - that guy should come from this draft.
You can find tape on any player to look bad just like the opposite

Aside from the one slip I'm seeing a ton of penetration from those defensive lines.....I'm not seeing a dominate offensive line blowing up huge holes by the Broncos offensive line.

He wants to stay in the league.
The money is too good.
He will give them whatever he has left
to become relevant.

I would agree, but I'm also not seeing much of a fight being put up either. He is taken down easily and wrapped up by one man, slow to get the corner on those outside runs, tentative to hit holes, poor vision, etc.

These are lowlights so I do want to be careful about how much we actually invest here, but the film being showed isnt good. Honestly a lot of these carries if you pause it right after he gets the ball he has more room to run than you'd think watching it full speed.

Oh I agree that he's not shedding anyone after contact, it's more of the narrative that Denvers offensive line is top tier and all this meats been left on the bone

He's just another one of Jerry's bandaid put on a full hemorrhage

One of the key starters the Denver Broncos are still waiting to replace in the 2025 offseason is running back Javonte Williams. Williams was a second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Broncos, the first draft class by general manager George Paton.

Williams looked like one of the top young running backs in the league as a rookie and was poised for a huge breakthrough in 2022 before a bad knee injury against the Raiders early in the 2022 season. It was assumed that he might miss some time early in the 2023 season due to the injury, but he was miraculously on the field for basically the entire offseason program.

There's every reason to view the signings of Williams and Sanders like the signings of Elliott and Freeman. Last year, thankfully we had Dowdle. Hopefully, this year they see the need to draft an RB fairly early in this deep class.

Yup. Media says whatever gets them attention. Objectivity has long gone out the window.
