Can New England handle the suspense?

Cleveland Browns coach Rob Chudzinski announced that a pair of newly acquired quarterbacks --Caleb Hanie and Alex Tanney -- will split first-team reps in Wednesday's practice ahead of Sunday's meeting with the Patriots, per the Akron Beacon Journal.

Moving up in the world fast - good luck to him.

The Browns have virtually no skill position players outside of Gordon. Hope he does well though.

Would love to see how he does over there. I liked his trickshot videos.

The guy I'm playing in Fantasy Football has Gordon. I hope between Tanney playing QB and Talib covering Gordon, that it will slow him down. I wasn't impressed at all with Tanney but I wish the best for him.

Tanney was an interesting prospect to me and I was disappointed to see him go. Looking back with a level eye he did disappoint with some inaccurate throws, the magic of the youtube video evaporated and it became clear he was gonna take some developing. I would suspect some Belichek dialed up blitzes on Sunday quite a bit. It may be a rough day for him but with his background story and all I wish Tanney the best. It would be a nice success story to see him make it.

I hope he puts up huge numbers.

They definately need a good young QB. Hoyer, Campbell and Weeden arent exactly spring chickens.

It was those videos that had a few here proclaiming he would be the Cowboys next franchise QB.

I've been ruing away since hearing about Tanney. Many of us wanted him on the roster to keep another team from offering him a job. In preseason, he looked like a candidate who could develop into less expensive backup for Tony than Kyle Orton. Now we don't have a QB here to develop at all, so we're probably going to have to invest a draft pick, and last time we did that we got McGee. :(

What some (many?) people don't realize is that being able to make those throws at your leisure is worlds different than making them in a football game (at any level).

One of the worst draft picks in NFL history. Still shake my head when I think about it.

Their first pick that year. Trent Richardson might end up being just as bad if not worse. But drafting a 28 year old QB in the first round was a bad idea.

Well he had a pretty darn good college career as well. So there's that...

True, but we all know the NFL is an entirely different beast than Monmouth College. Still very interested to see him develop.

What some don't seem to realize is performing trick shots aren't done in one take. If you give anyone with some ability enough tries at a trick shot eventually they're going to pull one off. You're not fighting a clock and you get as many attempts as you want until you get it right. That's not how it works in a football game especially when trying to avoid a pass rush and throwing to a receiver who's being covered. I've seen some amazing trick shot basketball videos by guys who wouldn't stand a chance playing in the NBA.
