Former Cowboy TC Casillas on Schotty's practices

Love this statement ...........Talent only takes you so far, culture is what wins. Think about it, most, if not all, Super Bowl winners have/had a core of 5-6 players who stuck together with one goal.

I would like a coach who not only preaches but ensures, physicality and team cohesion , as those aspects are needed in the playoffs and championships and was missing in the previous coaching regimes

I know these former player responses sound somewhat predictable, but the fact all of them seem to be saying the same exact thing bears well.

Casillas was on two of the 90s Super Bowl teams, so when he speaks about what he sees, I listen.

Alex Barth's tweet is embedded within Ed Werder's. Did David Andrews communicate his insight to Cowboys players, like, did Brian Schottenheimer invite him to speak to the team as he did with former Cowboys players?

Or is there some coincidental tie made between what Schottenheimer is attempting to do with what Andrews said solely about New England Patriots culture? Perhaps something he may have said during his retirement from their franchise recently?

Not sure if what Schottenheimer is trying to accomplish can be associated with what happened with the Patriots. Robert Kraft did not invasively, constantly and proactively infringe upon culture building in New England. It can be strongly argued that is and has never been the case in Dallas as far as Kraft's peer is concerned.

That is the additional and totally unnecessary hurdle Schottenheimer must overcome. He should be eventually judged as massively successful if he can negate Jerry Jones' taint on team culture in any significant way.

I think culture is overplayed. When you win, you chalk it up to having a good culture. When you lose, you blame it on the culture. That can be true, but what seems to happen is that when you are winning, it breeds a good culture and when you are losing, some players really hate losing, so culture comes apart at the seams.

I'm not saying culture isn't important. I just think success is a big part of having and keeping a good culture. A couple of years ago, Philly started losing for a variety of reasons and there was a lot of talk about in-fighting, etc. Last year, the Eagles won the Super Bowl and suddenly the team with the same head coach was a cohesive unit.
