Of course the title is going to contain info that’s pertinent to their primary listeners (ie. former Dallas Cowboys player). If you look at the related national outlets they reference “former NFL defensive back…”
The only reason you’re taking umbrage to it is because you think it was purposely written to reflect negatively on the team.
It is true I take umbrage to anything not resembling the journalism approach I was taught before the great World Wide Web and social media. For example, anyone (with the Search feature) can easily find examples of me specifying the lack of necessity for reporting what an unknown source said. Heck. A source was not identified for relaying Micah Parsons walking into the team's facilities. Secret agent man indeed. smh.
