Leary recently underwent Arthroscopic Knee surgery.
I hated to see him leave and he would've helped a lot last year but his knee issues have been a concern about him since college.
Excellent player but his knee issues will prevent him from reaching his full potential.

Yeah, Leary entered the league with a knee history that scared many teams from drafting him. That’s also probably one of the big reasons the Cowboys didn’t pay him to keep him. It was actually a good decision by our FO.

Interesting, I hated to see Leary go as well. People hated on Free and while Leary was more appreciated his loss was viewed as minimal because Collins was supposed to slide in. But our oline took a huge step back last season, although injuries were a massive problem due to lack of depth.

Im looking forward to seeing a return to greatness this year. As far as Leary goes it appears we made the right call.

Leary was never going to re-sign here after the whole Collins taking his spot fiasco. He bided his time and left when he was UFA. If anything they had a plan for Leary but Free's retirement is what really blew their plans out of the water. Leary is good and this surgery does not spell doom for him. His condition is largely dependent on proper circulation on the connective tissue in his knee.

Arthroscopic surgery is minimal invasive.

May be only to remove some bone spurs. Nothing serious

wel well all those mad we didnt try and keep him..we got a young man to groom there now thats athletic and a Texas boy..:)

They say he will be ready for camp as they ease him in. So nothing serious.

Arthroscopy is a relatively simple way to assess the health of his articular cartilage, and clean up any rough edges and/or debris. The fact that it is a common procedure does not lessen the seriousness of his chronic condition, which is osteochondritis dissecans. The decreased blood flow to subchondral bone makes that knee very likely to fail, even more so as it’s continually traumatized in the NFL.

He and the Cowboys were fortunate that it held up through his contract; the fact that he went undrafted is testimony to the risk. It would have been a poor business decision to resign him to a max deal.

Hope he recovers well, underrated player for sure, that's hard to say when you play in Dallas.

You did not understand my point. I was referring to the OP who put the surgery in association with Leary's degenerative Kee problem.

I wanted to point out that his recent surgery is just a common procedure many players do in the offseason. This has nothing to do or is an argument for that Leary cant reach his full potential (which btw IMO he already has for a few years now)..

What's funny is that we've yet to see this knee condition actually shorten his career like I've been hearing every other day since he was a rookie. I miss him, cowboys did him wrong.

OK.... OK...... Just stop with the facts, reasonableness and measured writing. You know that stuff is not allowed around here... sheesh....
