Tony Banks says; this should be a good year for romo, with all of the bad vibes from last year, having that cleared out, with certain players not here now. Romo can be the leader he should be for the Cowboys.

Romo has been fortunate with the same offense, most QB''s don't get the same offensive year and year out, this is the 3rd year for Romo now with the same offense so to speak. So, you should see a big jump this year, leadership wise this year, with no more excuses from Romo and the Cowboys.

This was on dfw sports beat if theebs or dc wants to put it up.

What you should be able to do now is to see Romo and visualize himself as leader, and he wasnt forced to mature early on some teams like most QB's are because he was on a great team and he had time to develop.

What romo must do is not give media an opening; if he slips in games etc, and starts out losing in games, where the media says, Oh, here we go again.

I'm not accusing romo of this at all, but there have been QB's in my career where I played that were content with just playing and not wanting to put in the work needed or play with fire to win, so to speak, paraphrasing.

Romo is going to get all the reps, which means alot to a QB to get all the reps for timing, etc... while showing the team, this is how we are going to win and prepare so step inline, players.

With 3 good rbs question; Yes, I played on a baltimore team that had 2 great rbs, those backs that the Cowboys have now, Barber, Felix and Choice can take pressure off of romo and allow jason garrett to focus more on running plays with play action off of running, draws, screens. This team should resemble something pro football wise in similarity to the Denver Broncos running game. This will allow more pressure off of Romo and Garrett. Somewhat like the Cowboys had when they had Emmitt Smith running with the Moose blocking, Jay Novachek receiving with Irvin, and with Alfredo Roberts blocking.
So, in retrospect you have to set up the run, so teams bring up 8 men in the box. Then, you as an offense dictate to the defense with passing when need be, and not forcing some passes like the Cowboys were last year to please T O.

Tony Banks; with the razorback offense I think you are going to see the Cowboys possibly using double TE formation, sometimes one of those big huge TE's being used as a WR, while possibly using all 3 running backs in the wildcat formation. The NFL is a copy cat league, with what the Dolphins did last year, you might see the Cowboys capitalize off of that formation, if they dont overdo the formation, you can do that to by spending too much time on one thing, and take away from your team.

The Cowboys big offensive line question;
Yes, the big guys on the offensive line want to lean on those defenders, and not go backwards, but attack defenders, but those big guys cant do it all; so others in other words other players like the fullback, blocking TE's must produce, not just the offensive line.

cbs;
The know now their not a bend but dont break defense; now the players are paying more attention with wade in meeting room, when that head coach comes into that meeting room players pay more attention; those guys on defense knows wades credentials, so you should see a better defense.

Even if roy williams is half what he is going to be, with those rbs, and TE's, this should be a very explosive offense.

Apparently, Tony Banks is still alive ... and has opinions. Go figure.

I almost forgot he played in Dallas.
One of Jerry's oddest moves.

Kinda. He never made it to the regular season roster. Jerry installed Q as the starter instead.

Good find. Felix in the Wildcat could be interesting.

Tony Banks never played in a real game for us.

He is more of a Commander than he was a Cowboy.

Yeah if the subject line actually said Tony Banks, though, CowboyJoe knows nobody would have opened his thread.

This is almost like a thread saying "Anthony Wright comments on Cowboys" or "Chad Hutchinson comments on Cowboys". It's negligible.

Did he even make it out of the parking lot to the practice facility?

Funny, just last night I saw Banks on some old QB challenge on NFL Network. I don't know what year it was, but it must have been old because Brad Johnson was there with the Skins and McFlabb had hair.
