I watch this show and it's pretty interesting. I like to see how the skills of these "stars" translate to the dance floor. The athletes (with the exception of Monica Seles) are usually contenders. Shawn Johnson won it last spring and Ty Murray and Lawrence Taylor did well. Of course, Emmitt and Jerry Rice were great.

Looking at that lineup, I would have to say Michael could be one of the favorites.

And these dance partners sometimes become frighteningly close over the course of a season. This could be a challenge for Michael. ;)

Here are the contestants: Donny Osmond and Tom DeLay along with Kelly Osbourne; former Dallas Cowboy Michael Irvin; models Kathy Ireland and Joanna Krupa; singers Macy Gray, Mya and Aaron Carter; actresses Melissa Joan Hart and Debi Mazar; Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin; ex-UFC fighter Chuck Liddell; snowboarder Louie Vito; and actors Mark Dacascos and Ashley Hamilton.

My money is on DeLay no one dances better than a politician

New 'Dancing With the Stars' cast revealed
Aug. 17, 2009, 7:38 AM EST

NEW YORK (AP) -- Sixteen celebrities from the worlds of entertainment, sports and politics will be kicking up their heels on the new season of "Dancing With the Stars."
The show's largest cast ever, announced Monday, features singers Mya, Macy Gray and Aaron Carter; actors Ashley Hamilton, Melissa Joan Hart and Debi Mazar; and models Joanna Krupa and Kathy Ireland.

Contestants also include reality stars Mark Dacascos and Kelley Osbourne; entertainer Donny Osmond; mixed martial artist Chuck Liddell; professional snowboarder Louie Vito; Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin; former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin and former Republican Majority Leader Tom DeLay.

"Dancing to me is something I've always really wanted to be able to do but never had the confidence," Kelly Osbourne told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show Monday morning. "I'm not very graceful."
Osbourne said that fear was the main deciding factor.

"It's the main reason I wanted to do it," she said. "I've wanted to do something different, something that scared me and nothing scares me more."

Last week, Entertainment Tonight reported that the new, larger cast was programmed as a means of creating variety from season to season, as well as in order to fill the two-hour time slot.

Executive producer Conrad Green told ET that halfway through the season, there will be a series of three double eliminations, dropping half the cast within three weeks.

The ninth season of the hit ABC show premieres Sept. 21.
