How many of you believe that one?

Pacman says he's pretty much "partied out"
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on April 29, 2010 10:44 AM ET
The Lions haven't ruled out bringing in Pacman Jones, but they aren't being aggressive about their interest either. Jones touched base with Lions coach Jim Schwartz this week.

"I texted him and just told him that I'm still available, I like what they did in the draft," Jones told the Detroit Free Press. "It was just a simple text message. And he was like, 'Thanks. Keep your head up and keep the faith.' We left it at that."

Jones says he's ready to take a minimum-salary, incentive-laden deal and wants to join a team as soon as possible. He also says he won't fall into the same traps that got him in trouble early in his career.

"You ain't got to worry about no phone calls at 3, 4 in the morning. I'm here to play football," Jones said. "Partying was what I liked to do back then. I'm pretty much partied out now."

The question is whether he's played out too. We don't buy the various reports of "interest" in Pacman because he's obviously ready to sign and no one will meet with him.

Jones may have to forget about those incentives and take any minimum salary deal he's offered.

"Former Ex-Cowboy"

Does that mean he is a Cowboy once again? Like two negatives make a positive?

this loser will never change.

he said nearly the same thing when he came here.

I remember vividly his butchering of "I ownded up to my mistakes I had done" comments.

This is the only thing that worries me about dez, he kind of uses the same types of responses as owens and pacman and they are all instructed to say these things by the same people.

He no longer is able to make it rain...only an occasional drizzle that quickly passes.

Pacman had several run in with the law before Tenn ever drafted him Dez had dinner with Deion and lied about it. Kind of apples and oranges there. :laugh2:

Funny thing is, he is out of league because of performance and not character issues. The guy can’t play.

Exactly.

He's in his mid-twenties, and it's dawned on him that he's going to have to become a regular member of society now.

Instead of making hundreds of thousands of dollars and making it rain, he's faced with having to put resume's on CareerBuilder.com.

In my opinion, he deserves it after the second chance he blew in Dallas.

Life is hard. It's even harder when you're stupid.

Hopefully he's changed. Sadly I'm sure the comments about him just running out of money are probably more accurate with him.

What a waste of natural talent.

Believe me there is a burger job somewhere in America waiting for his skilled hands to flip. :laugh2:

Dez has never been charged with anything and doesn't drink or do drugs from all we know about him. The people advising Bryant also have class acts as clients not just former knuckleheads. In fact Pacman had far more obscure advisement because he couldn't afford to pay the guys advising Bryant.

Bryant's primary adviser is a former Michael Irvin bodyguard and his agent was Emmitt Smith's agent.

I admit it worried me a bit reading how defensive Dez sounded but then I read the facts were the reports had been completely insane plus he had been questioned if his momma was a hooker and his defensiveness then made sense.

He had 6 pairs of cleats for his pro day but was missing a pair he'd have liked to do the short shuttle in... it was widely and openly reported he forgot his cleats.

He had been a top 5 pick in every mock draft to open 2010 and then saw his season end early, his stock plummet and his momma called a hoe by a guy who had the power to employ him... yes that would suck.
