ARLINGTON, Texas - The Cowboys on Tuesday officially unveiled the plans for their new stadium, one that will bridge their past to the future. True to Tuesday night's theme, Ring of Honor members other former stars attended the event and later shared their thoughts on the new stadium:

Rayfield Wright, offensive tackle, 1967-79
"It's a long way from the Cotton Bowl. This is new technology. It's a lot different, even from Texas Stadium. The players that are playing today are going to really enjoy it."
"The Cotton Bowl had been there for so long. Then we moved to Texas Stadium, and it was awesome at that time, but to look at this here, not to take anything away from the Cotton Bowl or from Texas Stadium, but I think this is a new generation."

Michael Irvin, wide receiver, 1988-99
"I thought to myself, 'How could I have topped the career that I had?' I've been blessed, we won three Super Bowls, but that's how we could have topped it, playing in that stadium right there."
"Can you imagine a replay on the screen stretching from one 20(-yard line) to the other? Say I just caught a pass, and Troy's yelling to get back in the huddle. I'd say wait a minute, I'm watching this replay. It would have been quite a blessing."
"It's Jerry. Jerry's always bigger and better. I guarantee you he wanted to top every stadium in the world, and I think he did it."

Calvin Hill, running back, 1969-74
"Whether you play in the Cotton Bowl or in Texas Stadium or here, when you put that star on you realize you have to be the best. This place is unbelievable, though. I was pretty inspired, the way I played. But this stadium is inspiring. It's the next generation."

Bob Lilly, defensive tackle, 1961-74
"I like the fact that you can play outdoors if it's pretty, and play indoors if it's not, and I like that you have a consistent surface to play on."
"(The hole in the roof) symbolizes tradition. That's why it's in there is for tradition. It'll be a real advantage with the sliding top. I think it is a tribute to the old players, I don't think he would have put the hole in the top, otherwise, that's kind of a throwback to the era that I played in, and we had great success there. It's the future of stadiums, way ahead of anything I've ever seen."

Would the players on the field even be able to see the screen? They'll be under it most of the time. What's he going to do, run toward the sideline to get a better angle?

Also, I didn't notice, but are there going to be other scoreboards around the stadium, or just those over the field?

Ok that would be the funniest thing ever. What a promotion.

Pepsi, dr. pepper and ford present
Snyder vs Jones in Madden 2011 haltime bowl.

That would be hillarious, Daniel snyder in his suite on the visting side and jerry in his on the home side!

I could see daniel snyder in one of those video game chairs, with a pillow underneath so he could see out of the suite window.

you don't have to be an ex NFL player to be awed by the new stadium, definately the coolest place to play a football game i have ever seen, the whole thing looks like a dream! On the negative side though, i got kinda sad when i saw it would cost one billion dollers to build, its depressing how we can all value sports so much when people in the world are starving and children dying of AIDS.
