Knile Davis, like Lattimore, is intriguing. Aside from injuries, they are top ten backs with lots of talent, but just can't stay healthy.

Le'Veon Bell of MSU ran a 4.52...that's a VERY good time for a man that big: he goes about 230 lbs and is roughly 6' 2" tall....very good time for him. His hands are exceptional and his feet and elusivity for a big guy are also special. He's going to be a good one for somebody. I hope he doesn't end up in DC or NY....I still say he'd be a VERY good compliment to Murray and he should be there in the 4th round for us at 18....that would be a great value pick.

Here are his stats for 2012. Of particular interest is the fact he had 382 carries to lead all of college football....thats 3...8...2 boys and didn't miss a down with an injury. Was also healthy for all of 2011 and 2010. THe kid is a horse, but the most impressive stat to me is that 922 yds were gained AFTER initial contact.....wow:

2012 SEASON (JUNIOR): Won the Big Ten overall rushing title averaging 137.9 yards per game, which also ranked third in the NCAA FBS . . . became the first Spartan to win the Big Ten overall rushing title since Tico Duckett in 1990 . . . totaled 1,793 rushing yards, the second-highest single-season mark in MSU history and the fifth most in the nation in 2012 . . . ranked first in the FBS in carries (382), which also ranks third most in a MSU season and fourth in the Big Ten record book . . . according to STATS, Bell gained 922 of his 1,793 rushing yards (51 percent) after contact, which ranked first among all NCAA FBS running backs, and broke 16 tackles . . . voted Most Valuable Player (Governor's Award) by his teammates . . . first-team All-Big Ten selection (coaches and media) . . . also a first-team All-Big Ten pick by ESPN.com, CollegeFootballNews.com and Phil Steele . . . named a fourth-team All-American by Phil Steele . . . honorable mention All-American by SI.com . . . one of 10 semifinalists for the Doak Walker Award (nation's top running back) . . . recipient of the College Football Performance Awards Elite Running Back Trophy; winners of the award are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams

Franklin is the best back in this draft. Probably will go in the 3rd round. Kenjon Barner ran an official 40 at 4.52. Thought he would have been faster.

I'd take a chance on Davis in the 5th if he falls that far

I just want to be the first to tip my cap to how well you are at remaining unbiased. Very impressive:cool:

Just doggin ya, He is a very good back.

BTW, my bias says that Gio Bernard is better.

Hopefully these really are unofficial times. Some are so bad that they can't be overlooked.

They are unofficial. Officially, Franklin ran a 4.49 and Barner ran a 4.53.

....my gosh, Martin(Tampa) and Morris (skins) ran very poorly last year and they were the top two rookie RB's....40 times are vastly overrated really....especially with regard to RB's. Look at Emmitt: even Marshall Faulk admitted that Emmitt had GREAT football speed on gameday but didn't do much in the 40. Same with Walter Payton: he was never a burner

How did mccaleb go from a 4.21 to a 4.41? They showed him lapsed with goodwin and he beat him , so that makes no sense to me.

I'd like to see McCaleb run a 60 yard/meters. He was running faster slowing down than anyone else I saw in their 40.

Gimme Christine Michael. 4.41 is great for a guy that big. Also, 43 inch vert. Stunning. He must have a great 10 yd spilt with explosive jumping like that

Just shows how overrated 40 times are. Alfred Morris ran a 4.67 last year, his speed seemed to translate just fine....short yardage quickness and agility are both way more important than 40 times.

people tend to think the 40 time will determine if a player can play.

Look at the fastest guys running a 40, with exception to a rare few, most of them wont amount to much in the nfl.
