Take off your Cowboys glasses for a few minute (very hard) and try to do this objectively and predict where the Cowboys will finish in NFC East in 2012. Be realistic....

1. Eagles, 2. Cowboys (toss up with G men), 3. Giants, 4. Commanders

The problem with the Boys is that the strength of Eagles and Gmen are exactly our weaknesses.

Eagles have incredible offensive speed which our LB's and secondary can't keep up and what's worse is that our DL cannot generate enough pressure without blitzing. Their DL is better than our OL.

Giants always has had very good front 4 and again our OL is pathetic. Eli seems to always play his best against our secondary.

Realistically considering reasonable upgrades to the Boy's OL (next yr need to flip T, get new guards and C...very tall order!), DL and secondary, we'll finish 2nd or 3rd in the division. Remember the other teams won't stand still and will upgrade themselves as well. Also remember that the Gmen has played without 1/2 starting secondary this year due to injuries.

Only think that may allow the Boys to leap frog the pack is for 2011 draft picks to BLOSSOM into star players and hit on top few picks in 2012 AND FA upgrades...... Hard for the stars to all line up so I think the Boys finish 2nd or 3rd in the division next yr.

Last place, 1-15, worst team ever, I read it right here.

Same place they finished this year

You just cant predict this thing without FA and the Draft

Cannot predict without seeing what additions/subtractions are made. Although, my gut tells me around .500, just like this year. We're more than 1 or 2 pieces away from being a true contender.

All I'll say is I hope RG3 doesnt end up in Washington.

My guess is the record will be once again somewhere between 7-9 and 9-7.

That may be good enough to get us in to the playoffs or be the last place team.

realistically with upgrades in FA and draft I have a hard time seeing us match up well with the Eagles.

I know we all believe we will improve but THAT MUCH in one yr? I love to see it but highly doubtful. We have to hit the motherload in FA and draft for us to contend for a SB next yr.

Until we have FA and the draft who knows. Until that happens I am not even going to pretend to guess what spot we finish.

We are one good QB for the Skins away from being the 4th best team in the NFC. The Eagles own us. The Giants own us.

We need about 6 really good players on D that aren't here now. We need 3 quality OL that aren't here now. Our star RB is going to be rehabbing a fractured ankle going into next year.

We still have a GM who has not put together a SB-worthy team for over 15 years and a Coach who has trouble managing close games and calling solid offensive games.

I'd say 7-9 to 9-7 is pretty optimistic.

Considering our schedule is harder next year, we may be better as a team but not in the win-loss column.

The Eagles-----we dont match up at all with them, they have too much speed for us. I hate to say it, but we probably lose twice to them again next year.

The Giants-----we match up better with them, so I see a split next year. Probably the home team holding serve both games.

The Skins----I think they will be improved under Shanny and will play us tough just like this year. I see a split with them as well, very unlikely we are going to sweep them in back to back seasons.

So that is 2-4 in the division again and probably another 8-8 finish.

We all know that the OL needs revamp but the scary part to me is that we need TWO G and a C + we are probably flipping T's. So it's basically a brand new OL. And I agree we need 6 NEW defensive players.

It's scary to look at what we NEED and next yr. I know FA and draft is pending but drafted players (except maybe 1st and 2nd rounders) won't contribute much until 2nd or 3rd yr. FA is a not as easy given the price you need to overpay.

We NEED at least one of our drafted OL from last yr (beside Smith) to be a hit and help anchor OL for the next decade.

At the same time we had chances to win the Jets game and the Detroit game and held leads and lost them. We had chances against the patriots to win so lets not act like this team was complete and utter crap they where mediocre which is what the record shows

If RG3 goes to Washington. We finish last easily. I really think the Eagles will win the division next year. Seems they were gelling the last four games. The Giants have had a number of injuries this year, and should be stronger next year. I predicted the Cowboys would be 8 -8 this year and can't see them improving on that next year. This ship is sinking.

8-8 and jj will come out and say we're a great football team.

Nothing would surprise me, from first to last.

But we're almost certain we'll have a tougher non-division schedule, and the East won't be as terrible as it was this year. I expect the Eagles to bounce back and the Skins to be much better when they find a better QB.

That's why all those historic collapses were so disappointing. We blew a big opportunity that likely won't be there next year.

I'm banking on somewhere between first and last place, but don't see how anyone could make an educated stab at it until they see what off-season acquisitions come around.

Barring miracles in FA and draft and I do mean miracles in finding instant starters in the draft and stars in FA, the only way I see we compete for NFC East title is for our RUNNING game to become ELITE and grind out games. We'll be playing Parcell football by shortening opposition possessions and us scoring TDs every chance we get.

Looking at next years schedule, 8-8 would be great :/

Unless we improve this roster significantly, we won't finish higher than 8-8.

Division: NY, Washington, Philly

2-4 to 3-3

Other: Atlanta, Carolina, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Seattle
New Orleans, Tampa, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Chicago

3-7 to 6-4

So I'm predicting somewhere between 5-11 to 9-7. That's too much tough games above next year to have a good record without a SIGNIFICANT change to this team. I'm just afraid that won't happen. We'll upgrade a few positions and gamble the season again.

The Cowboys are up against the cap with all the dead money they have from Jerry overpaying average players who are no longer on the team so it's going to be difficult for them to sign any quality free agents. They may end up having to replace average players with more average players hoping a couple of bargain FA's turn out to be upgrades. It's most likely going to take an outstanding draft for the team to noticeably improve the talent for next year. The Cowboys need a big upgrade at corner, safety, LB and need a solid pass rusher to pair with Ware. The defense is a long way off it needs several good players and a scheme that fits the talent.

The Cowboys still need upgrades on the OL so it's going to take a couple of offseasons of "solid" personnel moves for the Cowboys to go from a very average team to a team that can contend for a SB. What's scary is the window is going to close within the next 2-3 years on Ware, Witten and Romo and those players won't be easy to replace so the next 2 drafts are going to be very critical for the future of this team.

The Eagles are a much better team than the Cowboys we saw that and the Giants also proved they're a better team so unless the Cowboys hit big on some personnel moves this offseason I see them finishing 3rd at best next season in the NFC East. If Washington gets a QB like Peyton Manning or hit's on one in the draft the Cowboys may find themselves in the basement next season.
