Super Bowl Prospects for Commanders/******** (Offensive Analysis)
Guys, this is my first post. I've been a lurker for years.
The reason why I have finally decided to post is because of my immense belief that we have a super bowl team here this year and for years to come. Not only am i confident based on the talent and coaching staff we have on our team, but also just because I feel its finally our turn! I am going to give a position by position analysis comparing our underdog skins to the media favorite Cowboys to back my claim.
Quarterback:
Commanders:
With the arrival of Mcnabb we finally have an elite top 5 QB in the NFL. Without a doubt the BEST QB in the NFC when surrounded by great talent. In Philadelphia Mcnabb never had any true threat besides Westbrook. With the skins he has perennial pro-bowlers all around him on the offensive side of the ball. Some may say Drew Brees is better but he had much more talent than Mcnabb ever had in Philadelphia, and now that he's a skin we'll be able to truly see his best come out!
Projected Stats for Donovan Mcnabb: 4200 yards 30 tds 4 ints 70% completion
Tony Romo: Was a fluke his first couple of years b/c teams hadn't seen his gametape. Oh and having a Terrell Owens in his prime doesn't hurt either! Romo has been exposed as tony turnover the past couple years and this is probably his last chance to show he can succeed. He has always had mediocre talent, and the fact that he likes to party all the time rather than practice won't help him get any better.
Projected Stats for Tony Romo: 2500 yards 15 tds 25 ints 58% completion
My top 15 qbs in the nfl:
Manning (only by a hair)
Mcnabb
Favre
Brees
Brady
Rothlesberger
Rodgers
Rivers
Cutler
Eli manning
Carson Palmer
Joe Flacco
matt ryan
David Garrard
Jason Campbell
That cowturd Romo doesnt even belong in the top 25 freakin choker!
Edge: Commanders
Running Back:
What can i possibly say about this position? We have 2 perennial pro bowlers and a third RB that was the feature back in 2 superbowl runs in the past 4 years in Fast Willie! I cannot wait to see our running backs dominate the league. I call 1400 yards for Portis, 1100 for LJ, and a Cool 600 for Willie along with 500 receiving yards. Some may say that these rbs have fallen off, i just feel they were caught in the wrong system. Mike Shanahan knows how to use runners and they will be used to their full potential here in washington! we have arguably 3 of the top 15 rb's in the league in the same backfield! Hands down the best trio in the NFL.
The Dallas Triumvirate couldn't hold its jock strap. Not one single 1000 yard rusher on that team Felix Jones is injury Prone, Marion Barber is past his prime, and tashard choice is unproven! Look for dallas to draft a rb next year in the first round.
Edge: Skins
Wide Receivers:
Santana Moss is the best WR in the NFC East by a wide margin. Having him alone trumps any wr combination Dallas has The development of Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly into premier pro bowl players will propel our offense this year. Also adding superstar wr Joey Galloway who has had a great career and still has plenty of speed cannot hurt either! What a steal he was. Bobby wade will be a positive addition as well, he's been held back by poor qbs in his career thus far.
The Cowboys drafted trouble maker Dez Bryant in an effort to shore up their wr corps. Roy williams has been a bust for them, and Miles Austin is a one year wonder. Lets see what he does this year against a rejuvenated skins D!
Edge:Skins
Tight ends:
Chris Cooley and Fred Davis hands down are both better than Witten. While Davis has to show he can do it consistently, from what he's shown he's already the 2nd best TE in the NFC EAST!
Edge:Skins
The Commanders has their own version of Romo2Austin.
My guess is his name is McNabb2Moss
(Edit Catch17 beat me to it ..... Grrrrr)
