Four Receiver Sets

I can't help but think that if the offensive line can pass block sufficiently this year (can only benefit if we get Waters), that we will see some four receiver sets.

I think the best thing this offense can do this year is giving teams multiple looks. Which is helped tremendously by not having a fullback. Terrance Williams appears to be a legit third receiver, I can see us doing a lot of three receiver sets not just 12 formation.

But if the line can block, I could see us really spreading teams out with Austin and Beasley in the slots and Bryant and Williams on the outsides.

I think Williams is far ahead of Hanna and Escobar in terms of contribution to the team.

The benefit of this and a line that can block is the ability to run out of every formation, especially the 12 and the 13. Yes Escobar needs to improve his blocking, but to be honest, he doesn't need to become a great blocker.

I think we will resemble the Saints and Packers more so than the Patriots.

Harris??? The kid is a beast seems like everyone is forgetting about him in favor of the Beasley love. Sorry but Harris is going to have a good season when they go 4 wide

I haven't forgotten Harris, I just don't see him playing on the inside ahead of Beasley or on the outside ahead of Williams.

If they go 4 wide it will be Harris and Miles on the inside and Dez and Williams on the outside there is not a chance that Beasley will overtake Harris on the depth chart at all. If Beasley makes the team maybe the have a few packages for him but I wouldn't count on it.

Plus Harris has shown to contribute much more so then Beasley in a regular season game. Beasley is 5th but far behind Williams and Harris. Beasley will have to stay healthy and contribute in the return game.

From what I've heard and read, Beasley has passed Harris as a slot receiver. Harris is ahead of him as far as the outside is concerned although Broaddus has said he is improving there also.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Armstrong as 5th and Beasley/Green/Rodgers battle for 6th. Still haven't gotten over the fact he quit on this team. People talking about Spencer saying he didnt play as tough but he never quit and went home. When it gets tough in the playoffs our super bowl will Beasley quit and go home? Hopefully Beasley plays hard all the time and makes this team better

I think that's untrue, I think they are playing people at different spots to see who plays best where. Fred will start at center but plays guard as well to see what he has. Same with the LBs paying different spots. Game 1 depth chart will tell us, right now nobody knows but the coaches and Jerry.

If a lot of these people who have fixated a dislike for Beasley, paid attention to training camp, they would realize that he is the 4th receiver. He has spent the entire time working with the #1s whereas Harris has played with the #2s.

What this debate tells me is that we have unprecedented depth at the WR position and based on past history, this depth will come in handy at some point in the not too distant future. All of these guys will have an opportunity to play this year.

Some would argue we beefed up the depth because Harris is warming up to replace Austin next year. Might be sooner if Austin's hammy issue resurfaces.

Williams far ahead of Hanna? You are really underestimating our number 2 te. Hanna has speed, route running and blocking..and an improving relationship w Romo.

As far as Harris vs Beasley, although Harris does have more game exp..Beasleys route running and quickness in and out of breaks bashes Harris. Wasn't Beasley hurt last season also? (could be wrong)
..o yea Harris replacing Austin? Who do u guys think he is lol, i mean i like him but he is NOT a number 2.

So because its what you think that makes it reality? Did anything I say untrue? Have they played players at different spots? Yes or No? Right, that's real for you.

So who has started in the preseason games?
Seeing the starters haven't really played that much and Beasley has played with the back ups, that would point to Harris being ahead of Beasley right now. Like I said nobody knows till game 1 when the offense takes the field for the first time. Preseason games will have different starters every game, can't take the depth chart to serious at this point and time.

Not sure I'm totally sold on Harris but I like his PR abilities for sure. Not sure where he's going yet. I like the depth at WR.

Wow. Almost every thread about offense or roster becomes a Beasley debate. What a polarizing figure he is. The bad part is whichever way it goes with Beasley, then we'll have the "I told you so threads" about Beasley. Come on guys, give it break.
