I believe Dallas needs to draft a WR, RB, CB, DT in whatever order in the first three rounds. I also feel there are only four elite players that I would absolutely want at 12 (Carter, Hunter, Graham, Jeanty) and the rest just depends on what you want. In addition to those 4, I think 2 QBs (Ward, Sanders), 1 WR (McMillan), 2 OTs (Membou, Campbell) and 2 among TE Warren, CB Johnson and LB/DE Walker go before our pick.

If that happens, I'd look to trade down and pick up an extra Day 2 pick. For these scenarios, I'm saying the Chargers want to trade up for Walker, giving us 22 and 55 for 12 and a swap of third-rounders (76 for 86). That allows us to get the four positions we need with the following scenarios:

Scenario #1: Gimme a DT difference-maker

No. 22 DT Walter Nolen, Mississippi (alt. DT Derrick Harmon, Oregon, or DT Kenny Grant, Michigan)
No. 44 RB TreyVeyon Henderson, Ohio State (alt. RB Kaleb Johnson, Iowa)
No. 55 WR Jack Bech, TCU (alt. WR Jayden Higgins, Iowa State)
No. 86 CB Quincy Riley, Louisville (alt. Nohl Williams, Cal)

Scenario #2: We want to be a running team

No. 22 RB Omarion Hampton, North Carolina
No. 44 DT Tyleik Williams, Ohio State (alt. DT Darius Alexander, Toledo)
No. 55 CB Trey Amos, Mississippi (alt. Benjamin Morris, Notre Dame)
No. 86 WR Savion Williams, TCU (alt. WR Tez Johnson, Oregon)

Scenario #3: Gotta go No. 2

No. 22 WR Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State (alt. WR Luther Burden III, Missouri; I'm assuming WR Matthew Golden was taken)
No. 44 CB Azareyeh Thomas, Florida State (alt. Shavon Revel Jr., East Carolina)
No. 55 DT Alfred Collins, Texas (alt. DT TJ Sanders, South Carolina)
No. 86 RB Cameron Skattebo, Arizona State (alt. RJ Harvey, UCF)

Scenario #4: Stuck on corner

No. 22 CB Jahdae Barron, Texas (alt. Maxwell Hairston, Kentucky)
No. 44 WR Jaylin Noel, Iowa State (alt. WR Jalen Royals, Utah State)
No. 55 RB Quinshon Judkins, Ohio State (alt. RB Dylan Sampson, Tennessee)
No. 86 DT Joshua Farmer, Florida State (alt. DT Omarr Norman-Lott, Tennessee)

Number 2
Hampton is the best back you have listed, or at the very least, on equal footing with the osu guys
T Williams is my #1 1T DT in this class. He just screams 10 years monster inside.
S Williams may be the next Deebo Samuel, a true run/catch threat to the highest level.
Amos is probably the weakest CB you listed, but he's decent and the other 3 are a tier above IMHO.

Why are we swapping 3rds? We lose that trade already without swapping 3rds. The difference between 12 and 22 is 420 and we get 350 for 55. We lose by 70 points. Even if they added their 4th we still give up more value than we get

Number 4 nets three starters and a good rotational DT

No. 22 CB Jahdae Barron, Texas (alt. Maxwell Hairston, Kentucky)
High Floor Safe Pick at a position of need.

No. 44 WR Jaylin Noel, Iowa State (alt. WR Jalen Royals, Utah State)
Should upgrade the WR room

No. 55 RB Quinshon Judkins, Ohio State (alt. RB Dylan Sampson, Tennessee)
Not the same burst as Henderson but should be a good 3 down RB

No. 86 DT Joshua Farmer, Florida State (alt. DT Omarr Norman-Lott, Tennessee)
I think White Cotton can get the best out of him

I was trying to make it more palatable for our trade partner since they have to give up both their first and second. I wanted to try to be realistic with my expectations, so I gave up some trade value to make it happen.

Based on the prospect list I was using Amos was the closest to that pick. I liked what I read about him but just mainly tried to stick with the value.

I tend to lean toward scenario #1 or #2. I guess I want the DT and RB combo early.

1 has four starters including a potentially really good DT

I’d personally swap Nolan for Harmon
I like Nolen a little better, but I'd have no trouble with Harmon. I've seen both of them all over the place in rankings, even in the early second round. I kind of feel like this draft levels out after the early picks, so it really just depends on what you are looking for.

Definitely #3 but some changes, although #2 is intriguing
No. 22 WR Luther Burden III - need game changers!
No. 44 CB Shavon Revel - Thomas’s speed scares me
No. 55 DT Alfred Collin’s - yes please!
No. 86 RB RJ Harvey - game changer

If we can’t get either Burden, McMillan, Egbuka or Golden WR isn’t worth it. The others are very similar to what we already have.

Number 4 is my favorite. I feel better about all of those players than the other options. I also think DT (the type that we need, at least) can be picked up later in the draft, whereas WR and CB can't.

I actually like Bech quite a bit. I think he's going to be similar to some others who have been successful in the league because they just understand how to sell their routes.

However, one reason I listed alternates is because I'm not necessarily sold on who I picked over who I listed as an alternate. I just tried to go with players who were valued about the same.

I want a game-changer at DT, which is why I prefer one early. However, after drafting Mazi in the first round a couple of years ago and giving big money to Odighizuwa this offseason, I think the front office will also feel DT is less important than the other spots.

Trade very rarely deviate fromntje chart by more than 10 or so points. A realistic trade would be 22, 55, and their 4th.

That's fine. I'm not going to quibble over that. As I said in the initial post, my goal was to give us four picks on the first three days so we could take WR, RB, DT, CB in those rounds. I'd be happy not to have to move down in the third and pick up a fourth in the process. I'd be surprised if a team is willing to trade us three of their first four picks to move up in this draft, though. I gave up draft value to coax the trade.
