Even with his career at a crossroads, Lance is a gamble worth making — especially at this price. By ceding just one fourth-round pick in the deal, the Cowboys are holding onto all of their top 100 selections in next year's draft, and the $6.25 million guaranteed on the next two years of Lance's deal would slot him as roughly the team's 20th-most-expensive player. These aren't exactly assets Dallas will miss if things don't work out.

On the flip side, Lance is still just 23 years old as he enters his third NFL season. The size, athleticism and arm strength that prompted the 49ers to move mountains to draft him is still there.

The dude missed his last year of college cuz of COVID. He was injured the first two years in the NFL and was under tremendous pressure to prove he was worth the haul 40 whiners gave up for him. This is a good move. It only costed a 4th. Don't know how anyone can't like this. He gets to sit behind Dak and learn with a elephant off his back. Read a post here complaining Cowboys never address the back up QB position. Now we do and it's a bad move. Lol!!

Expectations were too high. He played in a less than great conference. Most guys like that need to sit for a while. He did, then broke is ankle.

This is a bit about Shanny's hubris. He got to the championship game with a 7th round pick and had made Sam Darnold into a viable backup. This is all about Shanny's ego after having given up 3 firsts for Lance. Not complaining - one of those firsts was Micah

He needs to play, not sit and learn, he's been sitting just like he's going to do here.....

He will!! All preseason next year and maybe Saturday lol. I get what your saying but again hard to play or practice when your injured. Who knows if it works out we don't pay Dak the next big contract and he becomes our starter.

I don't know if it's true but there are claims he didn't want Lance, John Lynch did. That Shanny wanted Mac Jones.
