The Cowboys overhyped Dak and now they are paying him a contract he will never be worth. Their best plan of action would be to figure out a way to get out of his deal over the next 2 years and get his contract off their books.
Also, teams like Washington and Detroit, and even the Eagles, were built on high draft picks. The Eagles made some trades to accumulate multiple first round picks. The Lions did the same thing when they traded Stafford for Goff. Both teams used those first round picks to grab impact players on both sides of the ball. Also, The Eagles went 4-11-1 in 2020 which also gave them a high first round draft pick. The Lions were losers for year. Maybe the stars are aligning for Dallas to take the same path.
With Washington on the rise and the Eagles already on top, the Cowboys could find themselves drafting early in the first round for a few years. Maybe this is what they need to find impact players and playmakers to lift them back up in a few years. I've said before, I don't think this is going to get fixed in 1 year no matter what Jerry does. There are too many problems with this team, including a fading QB.
