LOS ANGELES - Fox News columnist Roger Friedman is out after posting a review of a leaked full-length work print of " X-Men Origins: Wolverine ." Fox News said Monday that the company's representatives and Friedman "mutually agreed to part ways immediately."

Friedman had been an entertainment writer who has contributed to FoxNews.com for 10 years. He wrote in his Fox 411 column Thursday that downloading the 20th Century Fox superhero prequel was "so much easier than going out in the rain" and that the movie "exceeds expectations at every turn."

The early review of the film, which 20th Century Fox described as a "stolen, incomplete and early version," was later removed from the Web site Friday. Fox News and 20th Century Fox are both units of Rupert Murdoch's News Corp.

The movie, which focuses on the beginnings of Hugh Jackman 's clawed Marvel superhero Wolverine, is not scheduled for release until May 1, but the leaked version began appearing online last week. 20th Century Fox promised that the source of the film would be prosecuted and said the FBI and Motion Picture Association of America are investigating the leak.

Probably be a good reason why.

Didn't think it was that bad.

Still BS in my book.
How about the guy was stupid enough to write an article about it and they don't want to employ someone that dumb?

Besides, I believe he was a "freelance" writer, so he wasn't even technically employed by them.

I know and agree. He should have been fired. Harry and company are being hypocritical though...AICN was founded on being pirates.

True about AICN. The real joke is that Freidman is a pretty liberal guy-you read more then a couple of his colummns and its pretty clear. yet he lasted 10 years there.

An illegal copy,pirated movie.
See Hoof, movies these days are hundreds of millions of dollars investments.
A group of people get a bunch of money together and make a movie.
A compromised investment is a potential multimillion dollar loss.
This movie is now a compromised investment.

Friedman showed extremely poor judgement reviewing a pirated product.

I've read the site for years (maybe a decade?) and I don't recall any sort of pirated material being reviewed. Pre-screening reviews are altogether different. And they had posted an anti-piracy piece regarding Wolverine before the Fox article came out.

It has happened plenty of times...especially when the site first started and Harry had no connections. One major time was when Harry reviewed Attack Of The Clones. Dude went to a hotel room and watched a pirated copy stolen from LucasFilms...With the guy who stole it!

Moriarty even bragged once that it took him 25 hours to download "Spirited Away"

Also, reviewing early scripts is in itself pirating. The studio didn't hand them it. They obtain it illegally.
