What you don’t seem to understand is that the entire process is subjective and built to secure convictions. It’s not built to prove guilt or innocence.

Every single factor is trumped by an officers “subjective impairment opinion”

I get this, and perhaps I'm misunderstanding you seem to give little or no credence to 100s hours officers are trained via the police academy. Not to mention everything they do within their duties is subject to sworn testimony in court. As stated, maybe I'm misunderstanding ...........but this is way bigger than a single cop or a few bad/incompetent cops. It's part of the criminal justice system designed to keep us safe.

My point is simple: the law leaves a massive grey area for police discretion.

"Reasonable suspicion" and "probable cause" are flexible standards, not rigid math equations.

Officers aren't robots, no matter how many hours of academy training they have.

Two cops can see the exact same situation play out and make totally different calls on whether an arrest is justified. That natural subjectivity is the core issue here.

You mentioned “protecting our safety”

This might be a tangent, but I always find the phrase 'freedom isn't free' ironic because true freedom doesn't actually exist for most people.

Watch the video 100x more if need be. The cop clearly asked him to put the phone down, and Tony explained multiple times he was calling his lawyer...this went on, and on and on and on and on and on. Finally, he did just that and exited the newer version of OJ'S White Bronco. It's literally 2 minutes in, while he was sitting in his OJ refresh and told her to hang on, and about another 245,678 times, "So, I'm not allowed to call my lawyer....I'm not allowed to...So you're saying I'm not allowed to." All this while looking at his phone. You can see for yourself what happened when he left the OJ refresh...it's right there

Maybe a bit much comparing this to OJ, but I think the car is a Bronco, sooooooo...just not a White on, nor is this California

I used to work in the criminal justice system. In a youth correctional facility.

Some of the people working there were great at their jobs and cared about doing things right.

Some of the people were decent people but not very good at their job.

Some of the people were bad people who were in the job for the wrong reasons and should not have been involved in the justice system.

Long story short we were all humans.

Police are no different. Some are great. Some are good people but bad cops. Some are just flat out bad people.
