Johnson was definitely better than Gurode. Gurode was never a consistent center, nor was he great in pass protection.

LOL. Johnson was brittle, physically and mentally. How many pro bowls did Johnson have again? That you are even trying to defend your stance is funny, predictable, but funny nonetheless.

The two are absolutely nothing alike. Their style of play isn't the same and they have vastly different personalities.

I agree. Its poor comparison of style but if OP meant that each player represented a new era for OL he would be correct.

Gurode played at a time that there were not many great centers in the league. He was one of the best run blocking centers of his era regardless. Did not transition well to zone blocking scheme and pass emphasis. But despite all that, he was still WORLDS better than DRUNK ACED Johnson who had zero lead in his pants but too much of it between the ears.
