This assumes no trades by anyone (of course there will be some). I used the NFL draft spreadsheet and took guys that were in the range of where we pick (new updated spreadsheet coming soon)
1st (#16): Anthony Barr, OLB/DE, UCLA - he could be there when Dallas picks, especially if some of the QBs gaining steam jump into the mix (see: Carr)
alternate: Zack Martin, OG/OT, Notre Dame
2nd (#47): Xavier Su'a-Filo, OG, UCLA - arguably the best OG in the draft, immediate starter between the F boys (Fred and Free)
alternate: Scott Crighton, DE, Oregon St
3rd (#78): Chris Smith, DE, Arkansas love, love, love this kid's motor, one of my pet cats
alternate: Kelcy Quarles, DT, South Carolina
4th (#119): Joel Bitonio, OT, Nevada - this kid's stock just keeps rising. You get him and the "X" man and you have an amazing future Offensive Line for, oh, about 10 years
alternate: Martavis Bryant, WR, Clemson
5th (#158): Aaron Lynch, DE, South Florida - loved him when he was recruited in South Bend; he needs the right type of DLine coaching to maximize his efforts and that is something the team has in spades
alternate: Calvin Barnett, DT, Oklahoma St
7th (#229): Bennett Jackson, CB, Notre Dame - the guy has "it", played well for Notre Dame, could see time in the nickel early (4th DB on the field)
7th (#231): Zack Kerr, DT, Delaware - small school guy with a lot of potential
7th (#238): Prince Shembo, LB, Notre Dame - a guy that always seemed to be around the ball; he may be gone at this point
7th (#248): Zach Fulton, OG, Tennessee - more depth for the interior of the OL
7th (#251): Silas Redd, RB, USC - the guy played well for Penn State before bolting for USC; was very highly recruited coming out of HS; potential to be a good or a bust
7th (#254): John Brown, WR, Pittsburgh St - the guy impressed me at the combine, so I use a pick on him - hey, you never know, he could be that one speedy guy we need in the return game
As you can see, I put a premium on DE and OL, I feel the guys brought in in FA will bolster the DT position enough and you move Crawford in there as well. If you get the two OL, then we could be set there for quite a while
What say you?
