Frederick back sooner than we think?

How many games does he have to sit out if they place him on IR?

As long as he's on the roster at the beginning of the season thay can designate him on IR to return.
I think after 8 weeks they can make the decision on his future.

If he’s already working out, he’s unlikely to go on IR. His quick progress is very encouraging.

This was exactly my thinking.

He was well enough to have been practicing two weeks ago, somthis thing hadn't affected him that badly. And if treatments started early and they're effective, what's to say he can't rebound in the same two weeks time?

A player on injured reserve is eligible to return to practice if he has been on the IR list for at least six weeks from the date he was placed on IR. He is eligible to return to the active list if he has been on the IR list for at least eight weeks from the date he is placed on Injured Reserve.

The report I watched interviewed a specialist who said that the best case scenario would be four weeks. And they did say that catching it early was a big factor in the recovery time.

Good thing Fred was persistent.

I just don’t wanna rush him back. I know there’s no guarantees, but maybe we SHOULD put him on IR, pick up a vet after cuts, and roll with Looney. If we can’t win 5 games out of the first 8 without him, we don’t belong in the playoffs anyway, IMO.
