Frederick Restructure

Yes, the FO doesn't do common sense expected stuff until the last minute so fans gave something to complain about. Had nothing to do with their ineptitude and incompetence and poor prioritization

Makes total sense in bizarre AbeBeta land probably

Why make a move before you need to. This is how many teams work as it gives flexibility.

Perhaps they realize it is the fans who aren't smart enough to understand the basics of the cap and how they've managed it over the years? They are trolling those fans. I for one applaud the effort.

Any chance you could share where you heard that from?
I am curious as well. I think the lack of information on Irving has caused speculation about a trade being explored- I just did the same thing here earlier.

Would the Colts take that deal on our backup players and a unproven DT?

It's contract moves like this that keep us in cap hell years after a player has moved on.

This deal was designed to be restructured. This same money would have been part of the SB otherwise. We prefer high guaranteed money years instead of SB. The money is stretched across several years either way. We stagger that to stretch across 6 rather than four.

As has been noted a million times, the cap keeps rising. Pushing money into the future is a negative interest loan in that sense. 7 mill in four years is a considerably smaller proportion of the cap than it is this year.

Fredrick is a good restructure. He's going to be here for a long time.

Hint: anytime you see a guaranteed salary year, that's designed for restructure. If that player sucks, we don't restructure and are basically out from under the deal earlier. We do big deals like this all the time.

Yes he's good at this time but I'm mainly concerned after the same players keep getting restructured year after year and closer to retirement and we're still paying on these restrucures, that restructured amount don't just disappear, the money still has to be paid at some point.

I hope they don't restructure T Smith's contract.

True, but oline men can play well into there upper 30's, so I'm not worried about this one. Tyrone I would be wary bc of his injuries, but that will likely happen too.

There abouts. But don't expect them to eat up the $7M.

They want some wiggle room for the rookies and also whatever piece of trash signing we make in about a week after everything is picked over.

:banghead::(

I hope they don't restructure T Smith's contract.
They've restructured his contract every year since he was signed to his big contract, and yes he will take a big bite out of us, we just haven't felt it yet.

Yes, the money is paid in future years when the cap is higher just like their whole cap management system is designed to work for the large contracts.

Fredrick is a good restructure. He's going to be here for a long time.

He is a safe one to use as a bank. Durable and should be playing for a while.

Now Tyron Smith, Jason Witten and Sean Lee on the other hand, not so much.

If the FO of this organization is wasting even a second "trolling fans" they're even stupider than they seem (which is very very stupid to begin with). Though I think one level less stupid than fans who think and believe that's what they're doing

I hope they don't restructure T Smith's contract.
Why?.....you don't like cap space

It all goes into one pot.....it doesn't have a name assigned to it when they spend it or roll it over

All this rueing about restructures is just silly and uninformed

So if we don't restructure, we don't have money to sign guys which will cause CZ to complain and moan.

If we do restructure, we push money to future years where we don't have money to sign guys which will cause CZ to complain and moan.

Nothing we do is good, I get it. It just gets tiresome seeing this in every thread.

This is the safe restructure. I can't think of another current contract I would do this with though. Will also free up some money when Martins deal is finally done. Any other efforts to free up money should be done via cutting players.
