Anyone heard anything new on this? Expectation of return?
 
Fred will be fine, no need to find a new Center. There is a high probability that he will not suit up this season but he will be 100% for 2019.

He just has to let his body work through it and slowly regain strength.
 
We spent 4 years building the best Oline in football for the next 10 years. Here is where we stand: LT has back issues and will never be as dominant. C may never play again. RT is playing out of position but because he wants to be a RT and not a LG we don't have the balls to tell him otherwise so he is just an above average RT.

Back on topic, Jerry went from oh he will play in Carolina to well we just don’t know...

Oh yah, like you know. Fredbeard with be fine. lol

I would shuffle around the entire line. Move Marin to LT, Smith to RT, Collins back to guard and start getting Williams some reps at Center. Get in the weight room and be our next pro bowl center. Then all we basically have to do is fill the guard position in FA. If Frederick ever comes back then he can play center and Williams to guard.

My wife treats patients with this disease, think I have more inside info than you :cool:

On your other point, I am on record of moving Collins to Guard, Tyron to RT and draft a LT. I agree with you there but don't want Martin moved.

Martin is our best lineman. He could be an all pro LT. Wont be as effective at guard.

I would think that possibly Frederick could be back at some point in the 2nd half of the season. But I would expect us to be out of realistic contention by then and it wouldnt be worth it to bring him back.

Please give me some insight into the disease if you wouldnt mind.

There isn't much more to give that hasn't been hashed out here. You have to let the disease run it's course and once that ends, the nerves need to heal while slowly gaining your strength back. There are different stages of course and Fred's was caught in the best way........early. He will not have any lingering problems once he heals completely.

Everyone reacts to treatment differently but hoping Zach suits up this season is wishful thinking but there is a chance.

Yah, thought it best to just take it on account that he wouldnt play this year. Ruined our season really. Not like this was a championship squad. But with Dak being a young bus driver type and the entire team centered around our great Oline, it pretty much killed any last hope of a great season.

If we can get Garrett fired and a top 10 pick, it will all be worth it, however. As long as he can come back next year and be 100%.
