Frederick update?

Fred will be fine, no need to find a new Center. There is a high probability that he will not suit up this season but he will be 100% for 2019.

He just has to let his body work through it and slowly regain strength.

You’re body doesn’t work through an auto immune disorder. It is something you live with your entire life. You can only treat it and hope it goes into remission.

I don’t expect him to come back. Hope he does but I’d be making plans as if he wasn’t.

There isn't much more to give that hasn't been hashed out here. You have to let the disease run it's course and once that ends, the nerves need to heal while slowly gaining your strength back. There are different stages of course and Fred's was caught in the best way........early. He will not have any lingering problems once he heals completely.

Everyone reacts to treatment differently but hoping Zach suits up this season is wishful thinking but there is a chance.

If you're young and catch it pretty quickly recovery *can* be accelerated pretty drastically though. It's a lot of old people that get it, and it's usually pretty late in the game because they're... well old and dealing with other stuff and might not notice.

There's only one thing that's for sure, and that's no one really knows ha ha. I think he does come back this year, faster than people probably think, given the variables. I could be wrong, obviously, but I reckon' some time not long after the Bye.

I hope.

Work through it as in getting proper treatment until the symptons go away. It is an auto immune disease that was most likely brought on through an infection of some sort. Once the symptoms are over, the nerve cells begin to regenerate and Fred can rehab to gain his strength back.

This is not cancer, it is not like this disease may or may not go into remission. Most patients with GBS go on to a full recovery, especially caught early. The disease can linger for years but mostly mild symptons.

You're right I read it wrong... my bad

There is no timetable for Frederick’s return, although he has slowly improved. Even after he’s cleared to start practicing again, it might take him several weeks before he’s playing in a game.

Once season is fully out of control, they will IR him.

We spent 4 years building the best Oline in football for the next 10 years. Here is where we stand: LT has back issues and will never be as dominant. C may never play again. RT is playing out of position but because he wants to be a RT and not a LG we don't have the balls to tell him otherwise so he is just an above average RT.

That's accurate.

I’m looking at available centers in the draft next year.

I hope It doesn’t come to that, I like fredbeard.

1st and 2nd Receiver and tight end, we don’t scare nobody. Then we can look for a center lol or in FA.

I truely believe this team is cursed. I can't remember the last year this team started a season without injuries, suspensions or drama involving star players...It gets really old...

Average RT- been saying it since the start of last year but everyone was enamored with his draft profile.

Not really. Every team deals with that stuff. We just have poor coaching all around so the issue compounds.

Here it is week 4 and Travis Frederick not close to a return. I do believe they should have IR'd him.

My questions is if you IR designate to return, does the player have to come back after 8 weeks, or can you keep them on and bring them off later?

GBS is not an autoimmune disorder, per se.

It's an immune system attack on an offending agent, usually a virus, and a quite normal temporary and limited response. The particular attack in question mistakenly targets the body's own nerve cells, sometimes causing permanent damage. Therefore in severe cases, a patient may never achieve complete recovery; but that's due to the lasting damage, not due to a persisting disorder. The GBS immune response wanes and resolves, and is not a continuous or perpetual disorder. More than 70% of all cases achieve complete resolution.

For comparison, if a patient comes home from daycare with Streptococcal Pharyngitis, he or she will also experience an aggressive immune response, appropriately.

You explained it better than me, not a Dr

I was going to kind of compare it to the flu in such that ya have to let it run its course treating the symptons, but thought maybe not similar.

well Fred needs to heal up he cant fix Dak and im sorry until that happens TF will not help..we will be out of it anyway..BTW is Looney been that bad? no need to draft a center if Looney plays well enough..i hvaent seen any thig just stands out with his play that says we are desperate..

Not putting him on IR is yet another example of the ineptitude of this FO

I meant this draft looks pretty deep at the position so a later round pick could score a good player.

Things change quick in the NFL. How many units in the league have stayed just as dominant for 5+ years? Heck, look at what happened to Seattle's secondary this offseason. ET is a baller but he's all that's left.
