FEATURED Free Agency 2026 thread

I still have a house in South Jersey so I don’t have to spend summer in Florida. This year there was plenty of snow and even zero degrees! Seattle weather as far as temps has less variance and is milder than the Philly area.
Is it typical though? I know the east coast got hammered by that one massive storm

Not typical for the temps and they get more snow when it's a La Niña weather pattern but that's only every few years and still not a guarantee of snow if the temperatures don't cooperate. This winter just happened to be a good combo of both.

A domed stadium in Philly? What a wuss copout. It's not like they get tons of snow or even bitter cold. If Seattle is exposed to the elements, Philly can be too. What say you, @Aerolithe_Lion? You like a dome there or no?
I read he wants to bring a Super Bowl to Philadelphia. And that would require a domed stadium in mid-February in southeast Pennsylvania. Perhaps retractable roof, which apparently adds to the expense.

Rich guys wanting to leave a legacy, I guess. He wanted to buy the Patriots, but the owners OK’d Kraft. I suppose the Eagles were a consolation prize.

He has made the most of it. But he grew up loving the Patriots.

Getting Okereke and Greenard would make me feel a whole lot better
Agreed, and they are not even my favorite options. Okereke would at least give us a veteran inside linebacker, and Greenard would be a good mix at pass rusher with Gary and Eze. We're not asking for superstars here ... but we still rarely get what we ask for.

That's a lot of expense for a once every 10 years event. The Meadowlands got a Super Bowl. Why wouldn't an open-air stadium in Philly? Oh right. The stench of the city.

Hey-yo!

That's coming from their rotten fans!

No clue. But the talk, probably to garner sufficient taxpayer financing, is about all kinds of different “world class” events. I do not know how old their current stadium is. I did see a Broncos/Eagles game at the Vet. Can’t remember the year, late 60’s, early 70’s. Unbelievably cold. Eagles lost. I just wanted to leave, and I love to ski, all outdoor winter activities. I was too young to drink alcohol. The ones that weren’t didn’t seem to mind the frigid temperatures. Or anything else come to think of it.

I created Dome Theory, so no I’m the biggest opposition to it. But yeah, we very likely will get one

At this point, can we just bring in guys that are good at football? We can figure it out later. CP needs bodies. Linebacker and a corner would be great.

The media needs to torch Jerry for this debacle. I hope they really hammer him about his comments on them taking a different approach this offseason and being active in free agency. And when he gives his usual pathetic excuses, they need to follow up with tougher questions and not let him off the hook

According to Jerry this has been an A+ offseason

We’re not one of these poor teams that can’t build their stadium within the city the team is named for
On the other hand a deal is a deal. Plenty of money in south Jersey. Plenty of Eagles fans too. Philadelphia is a great city. Great people. Hope you get your stadium and the Super Bowl. Can’t imagine Kelly green indoors, though.

They do but it will never happen. The days of the journalist being the voice of the fan and holding owners to account is over. These days the media guys are just like Jerry: Content to coast along in the comfy Cowboys ecosystem and cash their checks with as little strain as possible.
