Grier is just as good as Rush or better.
He rarely gets off the practice squad. This is his seventh stop, six different teams, the Cowboys twice. He will not be on the Cowboys’ 48 man game day roster sans an injury to Dak or the team’s yet to be determined QB2.

Personally I don't have a problem moving on from Cooper Rush. He had really good moments as a backup QB. But face it, he was never going to be a threat to Dak Prescott. Rush's games against the Eagles showed me that! I want a young QB that's going to put some pressure on Dak. Not saying Trey Lance is or was that. But suppose lance is done in Dallas. For the money spent on either Rush or Lance, there seem to be plenty of FA QBs available that can had for the money spent on backup QBs last season.

The return of Trey is imminent.
Melt downs galore.
:muttley::popcorn:
Trey is not coming back, they even refused to play him in garbage games at the end of the season.

The other reason is Jerry will never admit he made a mistake and Trey playing well if Dak can’t go would make Jerry look like an idiot for giving him that mega contract.

Jerry would rather lose games than look like an idiot. Besides, if Trey was being groomed Steven would not be talking about looking at the draft for a young guy.

Lance is terrible. Rush was a no brainer signing but we messed that up as usual
I’m glad Rush is with the Ravens.
Now let’s see if he will stick this time, because he didn’t stick with the giants and no other teams wanted to sign him, let’s see

I think Lance fits our new run scheme now. Look at how the Cardinals used Murray...they would bring in 12 and 13 personnel to pound the ball forcing defenses to load the box, then they'd use play action off of those sets to run Murray out the back door.
Lance would give the Cowboys that extra dimension that Dak doesn't possess.
If our scheme is designed for somebody other than our $60 million dollar QB, then we are screwed.

And no, Lance nor anybody else is being groomed, they just restructured Dak’s mega contract making it even more impossible to move on from him.

Dak is going to be here for multiple years into the future, doesn’t really matter how good or bad he plays, the contract dictates he is the starter no matter what.

And for the record, I was against giving Dak that deal and especially against restructuring it.

Not gonna lie I liked Coop but did get frustrated with his arm limitations at times.

But overall though, he was a good player who did his job well based on his opportunities.
He played a big part in saving the team's whole season a couple years back too.

Good Luck to ya Coop!
