The owner’s son comes out and says the status quo isn’t good enough, they have to make the roster better and build upon the previous result.

And then they nickel and dime it again in FA making no significant improvements to the roster, likely banking on them kicking butt and taking names in the draft to fill their biggest needs.

That is if they actually think we have pressing needs. It’s quite possible they think they are quite fine at DT, S and DE with what they have.

Did we make it to the Super Bowl? No, the team that actually went out and improved itself that offseason through FA and trades did. You can't catch up just using the draft. Teams that are willing to make a few FA moves to improve will always pass you unless you just find Pro Bowlers with every draft pick.

They messed up last year, and got lucky but they like to get cocky for some reason.

Here's the deal, they say they'll build thru the draft, yet won't pay DLaw. Not paying DLaw coupled with having cap and not spending it is the issue for most.

Funny, They have all this money tied up in offense, but are hesitant to pay defenders. The strength of the team is running game and Defense. Know your team, defense won them games last year. Are they that confident the offense will carry them now...when they couldn't not too long ago?

The difference is they actually have a lot of cap space to use this year vs last year. And if they have any aspirations of getting past the divisional round they need to get more horses because they have a head coach who doesn't get the most out of his roster. Garrett needs many talented players to succeed. They don't need to pay Zeke this year. They can wait a year to pay Dak he isn't going anywhere. Same with Cooper or tag him next year and work a deal. They have flexibility this year and are doing absolutely nothing to utilize it. The crap that they have to sign their players in an excuse and with those same guys what did they accomplish? They showed they need more talent not status quo.

Great point! Showed they screwed the pooch in building the team in the off season last year and had to use a 1st round pick to correct their mistake.

Lots of things changed when Cooper came in. It wasn't just Cooper, as our negligible offensive output increase will attest.

It wasn't just Cooper that changed when he came in.

And fun fact: we were actually outscored in the regular season during our run after the break. We sniveled out a lot of games. The ball is unlikely to bounce our way so often indefinitely.

Yeah that whole WR escapade sure should t give anyone the warm and fuzzies that they are evaluating our safeties or DEs sans Gregory properly.

I would submit that we are in some serious danger of having a negative FA period as we don’t have DLAW under contract and we have no first rounder ( I am ok with coop for that, just saying our off season is poor)....our team may be “less”...we already don’t have a few DL as drugs were more important than playing football
