Just means he could come cheaper. I think the biggest mistake we make and we do it over and over is judge someone more based off what they do in shorts than what they do during the season. Not sure that he has the ceiling of some of these other guys, but I think he is a day 1 backup in this league.

what round? Remember we don't have a 4th. So we either use a 2nd or 3rd OR we drop to a 5th rounder. Do you trust a 5th-rounder as your backup?

Sure. If your starter is a 4th round draft pick, why not?

Oh I wouldnt be shocked at all to see a 2nd or 3rd rounder used on a QB. Yeah it seems unlikely they would go after a Sanders/Ward/Dart...although could you imagine Jerry if Shedeur Sanders dropped to them? I'd keep a close eye on those next couple tiers of players in Ewers, Milroe, Howard, McCord, Gabriel though. No reason to not start prepping for life after Dak at this point. Hes entering his age 32 season, shown signs of regression in 2024, and has the elevated injury risk label. I doubt they are going for another Ben Dinucci lottery ticket type selection at QB this year.

True but Richardson is a head case. Obviously the Colts didn't read this kid's mental pulse. He shows up with a self-anointed S on his chest, thinking his physical talent was all he would need. The Colts are now trying to save his career coz they his 5th option decision is next year.

Lance and Rush are unlikely to return. The word is that the Colts are going hard after Lance to compete for their starting job. Rush will have a solid market. We will def sign a vet and draft.

For me.........I like Winston or Justin Fields

I'd look to a Zach Wilson or Carson Wentz for a cheap veteran back-up.

From the throws I saw him make, they were when he took some heat off for accuracy. I wouldn't mind him, but wouldn't spend one of our top 3 picks for him when there are so many other needs. If/when Dak goes down we're doomed anyhow...then again, doomed with him lol

He's super smart.......in other words, other than some QB technical flaws, the kid checks all the boxes you want in a QB, certainly worth the gamble IMO.

We've got Will Grier on the practice squad, who is semi-competent, works cheaply, and is friends with Dak. My guess is he's the backup, and they draft someone late to see if they can develop him.

The Cowboys signed Will Grier. I like him over Rush. Grier has a stronger arm and is mobile. I'm OK with him as the backup.
