You did........here is his contract. Notice the 2026 numbers....none guaranteed. He's closer to getting released than getting any of that money. In fact, there is a good chance that a few more LBers will be added to this before free agency begins. Patrick Queen is another name to keep an eye on.

Agree. The draft's top 50 has more options with LB and Edge and a few safeties. I think signing a FA safety or two sets up the draft better. Then find a LB and Edge.

I think Chenal is more of how Dallas will want to go. Solid #'s in multiple schemes, a top 15 LB against the pass. You can pretty much eliminate Lloyd due to value.

End of the day though for market value.

Nakobe Dean is the obvious choice because he’s a good player that knows Parker’s scheme…but he’s been injury prone since entering the league. The contract will have to reflect the risk involved. I think the Eagles will let him walk, but don’t know if Dean will have a bunch of suitors to raise the price.

Leo Chanel is a guy I think has some untapped potential that could excel in the middle of our defense. I think he will definitely have a bunch of interest around the league though, and that’s if the Chiefs let him out of the building

I dont know but when i did catch some of the JETs games he stood out to me. That's me watching amd not hearing the noise.

He has average 100 tackles 2 1/2 sacks a year for the last 5 years including one all pro season I think.

At 5'11, he definitely gives me Sam Mills vibe. Their first 7 years are almost identical and Mills actually got better during his 8-12 season finishing in the top 4 for DPOY 2 times.

I have followed the jets for years and watch all their games. He’s a high energy guy who is a good person to have on a team because he’s a dude.

The issue I have is that even though he’s been in the league a long time, he’s continued to struggle with coverage and figuring out where to be when he can’t see the

He’s certainly better than Walker, Wilson and Sanborn and he’s a good teammate so I wouldn’t hate it if we’re here. I just hope expectations are appropriate.

Someone has to be top of the heap.

He’s not going to be all-pro but he’s the best of an average tonooor bunch.

The Pack is letting him go because he’s expensive and they have a couple of young LBs to develop that need playing time.

We need experience and competence. We don't need another Lifau who is good at depth. We need bonafide starters.

The LB corp doesn't need to be the main strength of the defense because we already have major talent and resources at the interior D line positions.

These possible free agent lists are out of control. I Saw the one for top free agents, not just linebackers, none of them are actual free agents (Yes George Pickens was at the top of the free agent list in that funny because he's not a free agent) ,

yet they're assuming the potential of some of these guys being free agents, but nobody knows for sure, This is almost as bad as a mock draft,

it's a mock free agent list.

Imagine a LB corps with Overshown, Queen and Smith? Thats how you solve a position group before the draft right there.

They still have 10 days left to decide to franchise Pickens. Ans I think until Match 11th to restructure any contracts.
So it is not like everything needs to be done now.
It would be nice, but I am not sweating or using sleep over it.

Maybe they are negotiating some things, and it all needs to fall in place.

there's so much misinformation out there right now ,about how this works, claiming all these free agents right now as if you can start bringing in outside guys under contract, and it's not true.

you can't this would be tampering right now,

You can start on the 9th making offers potential free agents that on the 11th,

if you haven't done something with your free agent now they can leave and accept those offers, but until then there's no rush none of this is a rush.

I don't know why people think it needs to be done overnight they're working on it they got Williams signed they're close to getting Aubrey signed They're working on their own house right now and the rest of it will come in time...

How do you know that a lot of it wasn't because of the bad situation on defense, missing starters, lots of really average to below average players mixed in with the starters, because of all the injuries, they were bringing guys off practice squads, not only theirs but others all over the defense, and then with a bad scheme, kind of hard to judge these players at all really..

I mean,

I remember a few years ago the Philadelphia Eagles went and got a guy named Huff paid him $56 million over three years at $17 million he was terrible that sometimes what you get out of a free agent is you don't know how they fit or if they're motivated to play once they get paid they literally didn't even activate him for the Super Bowl and now he's gone they traded him...

It's not an exact science so yeah it could potentially be worse you can overpay for those types of guys and then still not be much better.

I have a hard time judging any of those guys on defense last year because when all levels are, so bad and beat up and your leader is bad II just have a hard time knowing who was really bad and who wasn't.

And at what point during the season did a lot of these players just try to get Matt fired, you know how they say you lose your locker room.?

I don't know why you guys think that somehow he's injury prone, and I get it it's felt like that but when it's a different situation one knee on one leg, was a non contact... it happens.

the other one was bad luck completely opposite leg got rolled up on but he came in last year, and once he got going he stayed healthy the rest of the year, and now he can have a full camp for the first time in a long time, coming in healthy, and picking up the defense, and starting out from game one being able to have an impact..

Some Guys just have bad luck with the injuries, you could call them injury prone, because it feels like that but it's really not ,it was just bad luck.

I mean most guys that get rolled up on the way he did it destroyed his knee in the second time, It's a complete opposite knee, it wasn't non contact ,it wasn't the same injury, to the same part of the body, therefore it's just bad luck I don't call that injury prone.

He can get past the bad luck Any unfortunate accidents that can happen with people falling on each other and getting hit on the back of your legs in football then maybe he stays healthy for once..

Plan for him is to utilize him like Parsons they're going to move them all around they're going to start him out at OLB and then yes you have to hope for the best but you can't plan around injuries he's healthy going into camp you will depend on him..

Here's the fact that it's impossible to rebuild an entire defense and purge that many players at once you have to keep some holdovers and just roll with it..
