I'd like to see something like that but would be surprised if there any such thing around. But if you look at our 07 FA signings (RG Leonard Davis) & FS Ken Hamlin, both certainly improved over their performances with their former teams.
Davis was considered a bust by their fans, most of the so called experts & I guess by the team since they didn't want him back. Yet he plays so well for us he is a legit pro bowl player for the first time.
FS Ken Hamlin wasn't want back by Seattle (maybe head injury in 05 part of the problem) in 06 and other teams unwilling offer him much either, so we got him for $2.5M. He played very well, despite working opposite SS Roy Williams, and again he also became an alternate and made to pro bowl.
QB Brad Johnson wasn't a factor but backups really are and he certainly wouldn't have improved his old play given his age.
Can't forget the TO signing & he's certainly played very well for us in 07 and was also good in 06. At his age don't see how he could play better but so long as he continues with his current play in Dallas I sure think we will all be pleased.
WR Terry Glenn who we picked up for 6th rounder from Packers in 03 certainly went on to play extremely well for us from 03-06 but knees prevented him from helping team in 07.
CB Anthony Henry has played well for us, better then expected, but has gotten hurt each of last 3 years and missed several games each year.
DT Jason Ferguson didn't play that well in his first year (05) but did get better in 06. Showed in TC in 07 he was going to have a good year but got hurt in season opener against the Giants.
LB Akin Ayodele played pretty good in his first season with us an ILB in 06 but regressed a lot in 07. Probably loses starter job to Zack Thomas this year.
LG Kyle Kosier has done a much better job then any of us expected. Doesn't mean that we wouldn't like to get a bigger/stronger OL to replace him (maybe another OL player already on the team) but his salary isn't bad (5 years for
$15M) but he is solid.
Forget Vanderjagt.
I don't think any of the other players Parcells brought to Dallas from other teams stuck around long enough (more then 1 year) to make any lasting impression. Sorry I couldn't provide stats, etc.
