Spend as little as possible while lining your pockets with the money of suckers who think they actually care about winning.

Since 2015 the Cowboys are dead last in salary dollars spent, that trend continues this offseason.

But who cares, the franchise is worth billions!

It’s more to do with incompetence and distractions than anything else. Moron and son pretend to be interested to keeping their name out there but they have no idea how to evaluate players so how can they determine who is worth what? They can’t . They paid a few players and got ridiculed for overpaying and incompetence do now they hide behind “ value” while signing bottom feeders so they won’t be called out in the media for being idiots. This prevents them from making bad expensive decisions but also creates an inability to make the team better with good FAs. This is the only way to hide their utter incompetence.

most of this is window dressing

Interested in everyone, sign no one.

Maybe a little overboard. They will sign some FAs, but they will be one- to two-year cheap deals for players who can fill a starting job but aren't good enough to get paid more.

The Joneses gave up on big-name FAs a long time ago now. They decided that you don't get what you pay for, so it just creates a drain on the cap. They decided they'd rather pay the players they know than the ones they don't know. They are overreactionary, so this was their response to a few big-name failures, specifically Brandon Carr. That is the last big-money FA signing they made. They did sign Greg Hardy, but his contract was cheap relative to what a starting end of his caliber cost (because of the DV issue), and really that decision just cemented their thinking since Hardy did not play that well and became a distraction because of his attitude.

I don't know what interest they are showing in these FAs. It might just be the Cowboys name being thrown around by agents. But they haven't been buyers in the market at this time of year, so expecting them to sign any outside FA except cheap ones isn't realistic.

I think this has to do with his love child - can't spend any $$ on anyone else!

They're not interested in any of these guys.

Do not be fooled by the media. The only guys we're interested in is our own guys.

Even if they miraculously sign Wagner this FA is a massive failure. Everyone is gone. Sign the trash that's left over after the first week is the philosophy no matter how much cap room we have it seems.

They always restructure to free up cap space that they won't use.

Obviously didn't expect any big signings, but was at least hoping they'd try to replace Gregory. Deals like Zadarius and other players got will NOT happen after this season, and they really missed the boat.

I made up my mind a while back to quit taking this team so seriously. That transition has taken place pretty heavily in the last 3 years and holding. This family-owned sports venture called the Dallas Cowboys is only a fraction of what they were under Landry and Jimmy Johnson as their acting GM. It just sickens me to no end to see what's been happening to this team. I only wish I could care more nowadays. You're not alone in that scenario.

I'm still planning on watching their games on TV but mostly for entertainment and not with any expectations of any Super Bowl contention. It's a shame but that's the sad, unvarnished truth that likely haunts most of us, if not everyone with a handle on the ongoing Cowboys' situation. It might take more than a miracle to change things, imho. Jerry and Stephen are simply too hard-headed and stuck in their ways to see things for what they are.

It's sad. I used to get so excited for everything. Free agency, preseason, combine, draft. Now? This is the least interested I've ever been for the draft. I'm trending the direction you are.
