Glover Quinn seems like a good fit, should be reasonable price, young and his stats look solid. I would prefer him over the other out there, second choice would be Barber for vet leadership and the familiarity with Kiffin.

None of those stats are helpful when evaluating safeties.

Quin plz.
He has among the worst coverage statistics of any starting safety in 2012. Literally one of the worst safeties in the entire league.

I like Kenny Phillips........I know he has some bum knees but that would come at a discounted price and would probably allow us to do a 1 or 2 year prove it deal. He is a top 5 saftey when he does see the field and is worth the risk. Between him, Church, Matt Johnson and throw in a late round pick and let them fight it out for the 2 starting spots..........oh by the way, Phillips can play both positions and we had him very highly rated coming out of college.

We need to address the safety situation through the draft not free agency.

pff safety stats are meaningless as they cannot even see the safety during the telecast.

Their coverage stats are in general pretty awful unless you know the player plays man coverage the majority of the time.

All 22 film is publicly available. If you have examples of errors in their coverage statistics, please share. But I don't see there being much room for meaningful amounts of errors in the statistics I'm referencing, even without the all 22.

Lol you say these statistics don't show us anything yet come back with a statistic. I go with a eye test and the texans are the only team. I watch almost as close to the cowboys. Not by choice but they get shoved down my throat living in the houston area. He a very solid s. He is the texans main priority to resign

He wants good starting money considering he turned down the Giants deal. Can you believe he didn't give them a home town discount:p:

I'm referencing coverage statistics. Those in the OP are not cover statistics.

The timing of the release of the All-22 film means that we still cannot use it as our primary source for our grading. We have deadlines to meet for providing data to our clients before the All-22 film is expected to be released on Gamepass/Game Rewind. However we will be using it as part of our review process each week.

Even had they used their All-22 coverage stats are flawed to say the least. It's like using a compass to measure distance.

Safeties play the vast majority in zone. Their assignation of a player for a target is based on who is closest to the target when the pass gets caught or falls incomplete. As the last line of defense, any time a coverage was blown or a guy just gets completely smoked the blame goes to the safety.

For example if a CB whiffs on a jam or you have a guy like Dan Conner or Bradie James covering the underneath, if the S ends up closer when the ball is caught then it's on his butt.

Baseball defensive stats, as hellishly flawed as they are, do better. Correlation does not imply causation and this doesn't really even correlate to anything consistently meaningful. It also has zero controls as well. Things like coverage, QB accuracy/decisionmaking, route combinations, etc, are in no way considered.

pff coverage stats suck. I remember it fooled you into thinking Hamlin was an elite coverage safety.
