i'm fine letting Miles walk. Just need to draft his replacement. Jordon matthews is my perfect replacement draft choice.

Come on man. kenny Britt? The guy hasn't ever done anything except destroy his ACL, get arrested, and get a lap dance on stage from Brtiney Spears. No thanks on Britt

we drafted williams. he can replace miles and showed flashes of a player. britt is an example of *any* servicable receiver we can bring in that won't cost us a ton.

and sorry, i don't spend my life online looking for reasons to hate a player. lord knows irvin never had any stripper issues. if he's a bad option he's a bad option. but drafting someone to replace miles when we likely have him on the team and have bigger needs...

i'm done with that type of mentality. :)

I don't think WR in round 1 is smart. Team needs defensive help in the wits way.

I don't either but if we rank those 2 higher on our board than say the next DT after Donald then I can see the logic. Free Agency might help us with dropping a few players down to us because other teams have filled the hole. Mark my words Anthony Barr will fall if Lamar Woodley goes to Tennessee and Lamarr Houston lands in Chicago.

I dunno. I don't imagine such a drop off in the first half of round 1 that the guys left will make for a Floyd situation this year. I think BPA is generally a good idea but DET went that route and burned 3 firsts on WRs in a short course of time.

At some point you can't justify all the resources at 1 position when the rest of your team rots. Between Dez, Roy, Austin, Williams that's $100M, 2 first round picks, and 2 third round picks in the last 5 seasons.

Dez will up that cash total big time. A 1st rounder will kinda put it over the top, IMO.

As an aside. I hate autocorrect. "wits way"? Jeesh (and I swear when I just typed "Jeesh" it corrected to Jewish)

I'm most intrigued by Hakeem Nicks, no shot we sign him but I feel Bryant/Nicks/Williams would be deadly. Either Byrd or Ward would be the ideal long-term signings for defense, however the signing that would benefit us most for next season would likely be Henry Melton.

If Donald isn't there or mosley. What do you do. If your board says a WR is the best player by a long shot you still reach for a defensive player? A wr can help us out alot this year. We usually play with 3 wrs most of the game. We only have 3 on the team that I like.

Dez plays every game with a bad back, Williams is young and unproven. Who's left if Dez goes down. Beasley? Harris?
Those guys are good in there roles but they aren't top WR threats. They don't take pressure off of Dez.

Look at Atlanta who traded up for Jones. That offense became explosive. Now I wouldn't trade up because now they paid for on their defense and oline. But we wouldn't be trading up.

All I am saying is. If a great a WR fell to us in the 1st, more likely 2nd why pass on a guy that can help this team out the most besides reaching to feel a need.

I agree on the 1st round to an extent. Unless it's someone special. Watkins might be the exception but no way he falls. At 16 I would t want to see a WR picked. But would be fine in a large trade back or in the 2nd or 3rd if that's the best value.

Detroit also drafted those wrs for need. Detroit also looking at trading up for watkins this year. Johnsons watkins would be scary. Right now all we have is dez getting doubled every pass play.

And top $ wrs beat it. I think Williams will step up. I think we can get a serviceable FA but we need other positions more than WR

That's like trading back and not drafting McCoy in the 2nd even though he was the top player on the board at that time because you had Felix and Baber at RB and we had bigger needs. See what that got us right.

And hell we should have nabbed mendenhall...

Starting to think Wooton will be there guy if they re-sign Hatch. Guy had his best year in 2012 and seemed to regress w/o Maranelli also doesn't help him that Bears drafted another young DLE who is taking snaps away.

Give this team Byrd, and Jackson (1 tech) on the cheap. Then look to the draft. Read Woodyard rumblings and wouldn't hate that considering how weak the LB core was last season (Carter uncertainty as well). Pass rushers are too expensive in FA.

I've also heard that there is interest in Nate Burleson and that they're monitoring the Steve Smith situation in Carolina.
