Free has a quad injury

Wasn't Green brought it to be a RT? He never graded out to be a LT, but that's all he's played so far this year.
He was played at LT to see if the swing T could be his.....his natural position is RT & it shows if anyone cares to look at film. He played RT since HS, the Gators [a bit anywhere once hit by injuries].

I just SMH at all this crap about Collins playing RT. Green is twice the pass protector as Free or Collins, yet #68 gets a pass to decide when his time has passed.

AGAIN watch FILM when Green runs with 70, 72, & 71.....it's a thing of beauty, can only imagine with 77 added. Green never gave up a sack during his time at UF.....again NOT ONE SACK

It'll be GLORIOUS

It always seems like our running game suffers when Free isn't in. Free has been beat a couple times but overall I think we're better with him in. IMHO

Go watch Free on #21's TD run against the skins.....tell me your opinion after that

Ok, I'll try and look it up and I'll get back to the thread

Yeah he didn't look so good. You're talking about Alfred Morris' 4th qtr td right? I watched both Prescott's and Morris' TDs and yeah Free didn't look so good.

Looks to me like Free and Witten, at least his blocking, have gotten considerably worse since last season

I've said it before, but I feel the need to reiterate it. There's a young offensive tackle begging to get out of San Francisco, and he's on the outs with both the GM and the head coach, The 49'ers Anthony Davis. He's been a solid player in this league and he's got elite physical qualities. He's played both right and left tackle and was also playing guard this year. Now he's not playing at all and wants out of there. I'm convinced that somebody is going to trade for him and I hope it will be the Cowboys.

His contract runs through 2020 I believe too, and there's no way this team is keeping Free at his 2017 salary, especially given his level of play. Davis would likely be an upgrade over Free today, or worst case, a backup lineman, swing tackle candidate if they wanted to look at Green first. Ron Leary isn't happy here, Anthony Davis isn't happy there. I think a trade of disgruntled offensive linemen would be a win-win for both sides.

Watch EE TD at the goal line as well....Free completely WHIFFED....he was 2yds past LOS looking into our backfield cause he missed his man COMPLETELY

Tapper hasn't practiced since the first weak of training camp. Just IR him already. Tired of everyone mentioning the savior of our defense. Can he even play? Is he 1/2 as good as Russell, the same, or better?

Tapper is coming back! Yay. So what. Who is he, and how many sacks is he gone get us this year ? 0 ? 1?
He's magic. Everyone here clings to the unknown, because it's the only bit of hope we have on the defensive line at the moment.

Green projected as a guy who could play all the line positions.

We're better off in the long run if Green steps in at right tackle and is at least as good as Free is. I hope that's the case (and wouldn't mind him getting that shot while Prescott is at QB instead of Romo).

The truth about Doug Free despite cries around here that he's awful is that he's a starting-caliber right tackle. He's going to give up some pressure and some sacks and miss on some blocks, but he is solid on far more of his blocks than the ones he misses.

That puts you in a position where you want to upgrade him to someone who misses fewer blocks, but also where it isn't as easy as just plugging anyone into the lineup. It's better to be solid on 40 of 45 pass attempts, like he was against New York, for instance, than on 35 of 45.

I like what Green showed in the preseason. He looks like he could be that upgrade and ultimately, spending a third-round pick on him, that's what we got him to eventually be. However, that doesn't mean he will be better than Free. Some seem to think he can't be worse, but they really have blinders on to how bad it can be at right tackle.

If Free is limited by a quad injury, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing Dallas plug in Green to give him a chance to prove himself, but the Cowboys would need to have him on a short leash just in case even a limited Free is better.

Not going to happen.

Yes, I'm not sure why anyone would think it might considering that we haven't seen Collins get any time at right tackle. If we had been practicing and playing him there some.

Does it burn anyone else that we never get real updates about these guys ? Tapper - out for how long ? And if its like Romo's break, why not IR ? Nzeocha - Achillies what - strain, partial tear, I really do hate that no one ever asks good questions, and follows up when Garrett brushes them off !

No reason for the coach or the team to divulge medical info other than what is required.

Progress stopper. Time to make the move to Green and see what he can do

Lets all hope that Green turns out to be as good as you proclaim him to be. Are you his brother or something?
