I just said I think people shouldn't focus too long on the short term injuries, but the answer to this is yes.

I said it earlier in the offseason, this guy missed time twice last year, i believe both times it was related to his foot.

I would worry about this because it generally means that we're going to have to have Weems in there. And then who is the swing tackle under him?

Really hope this doesn't bring down the offensive line.

In past TC, short term injuries have had a tendency to turn into long term injuries or lingering injuries. You never really know anymore

with a sore foot. Any cause for concern given his health history these past few years

I'm not surprised Doug Free is dealing with some soreness after a prolonged layoff following off-season surgery.

But it seems a bit excessive now.

This is a lot of rest for a sore foot.

I hope the team is simply being cautious.

Maybe it's time for Martin or Collins to get at look at RT.

Truthfully, Weems needs all of the reps that he can get if he's going to be the swing tackle this year. He hasn't gotten a lot of reps or experience in his time with the club. The scheme hasn't changed, so Free should be pretty familiar with what the team is doing. I would be concerned if the Cowboys were approaching the third preseason game, and Free was still out, but that isn't the case. In the meantime, let Weems get the work, and hopefully working against Lawrence and Mincey prepares him for possible work during the regular season.

I'm thinking it might be a better idea to move on in the next offseason. It's not time to move on just yet.

He's a vet. He doesn't need a ton of practice. Far better to see if Weems can handle the job or if we should think about Collins there
