NFL.com had something about Darren Sharper being replaced by Malcolm Jenkins as the starter in New Orleans. Sharper seems to think he still has what it takes to be a starter in this league. Could he be a stop-gap until Dallas is able to find the FS for the future? Or is there already one that Rob Ryan has his eye on? Discuss...

Don't think so. I think Rob Ryan has his eye on Michael Huff and Abram Elam.

Sharper would've been a good addition last year. I think he's just about done now.

Agreed. Sharper is long in the tooth and at his age for a football player, nagging injuries usually become the norm and then were stuck with a backup like Ball. No thanks.

Huff please. Elam maybe.

I would have loved to have gotten Sharper several years ago, it's not happening now.

Search for my posts from back when we still had Woodson. I wanted him then. And people said he was done.

I don't know about now, though. That's been a while now.

Which of your banned aliases are they suppose to look up?:p::lmao:

Unless you were knocking on the SB door and only missing a FS, forget about the 1-2 year older guys, no matter how good they still are. Go young...you hope any safety you bring in will be here for a few years at least.

You don't want a situation where if you don't win a SB in 1-2 years, you're starting over at the position again.

I think Dallas will go after a safety in FA who is younger than Sharper and will be more than just a stop gap

This.

I think that upgrading the safety positions are 1a and 1b on the free agent list and if the team is able to do anything with cap constraints, this will be it.

Don't fall asleep on Daniel Manning as someone who might be coming here. Nick Eatman sure mentions him a lot. Might be something he has heard.

Of course it might be something he wants too.

I guess that social progress is indicated when there isn't an endless anti-Texas group tossing insults towards Michael Huff and a single mention of Quincy Carter.

He is also an accomplished kickoff returner...meaning that Bryant should never, ever be used again in that role.

Shoot, man, I'm not sure. It could have been any number of them. LOL. So far so good on infractions tho.

Love this place.

I like Church, but I don't think he can be a consistent player. Sandejo, in the long run, seems like a shot. But not now.

We're going into the season with a major problem no defense.
