Keith Davis took his usual terrible angle on the Portis touchdown, which was his primary problem last year. That wasn't even a difficult play - he lacks the ability to assess plays like that.

The middle of the field was wide open all day - I really don't know why we can't find a guy who can make some plays back there for us.

They had a drive that was 4 plays 80 yards...

Thats unacceptable and the coaches should be ripping the secondary and the D as a whole for that garbage.

True, we need a good free safey, I am still hoping that Watkins will be our future free star safety.

But, until this team really, really cares and wants to win, not just win one, lose one, win one, lose one, and quit these stupid penalities, then the Cowboys arent going anywhere.

Its like in pratice this week, Parcells cancelled it because it was slooopy play Wednesday. And then Friday last pratice, again Parcells had to cancel pratice, because the COWBOY PLAYERS WERE PLAYING SLOOPY AND DIDNT GIVE A CARE. THATS THE PROBLEM, TILL THEIR IS SOME MORE DISCIPLINE ON THIS TEAM, AND SOME ACCOUNTABILITY TOWARDS THESE PLAYERS THEN THE COWBOYS ARENT GOING TO WIN.

Like the coaches say and Parcells says, the coaches, can only get you in positioin to win, its up to the players to want to win, and win. Not just be content to win one, then lose one, then win, then lose. THE COWBOY PLAYERS ATTITUDE IS LOUSY. TILL THAT CHANGES FORGET IT!!!!!

It's the same thing every year, and can be treaced to coaching. Like I said before, you can put Deion, Lott, and the Woodsons, all in their prime, and Zimmers coaching would make them average at best.

We now have elite plyers in the secondary, and they look now better than average. This has been a problem for many years.

I agree. This defense needs one player that is just flat out nasty. Nasty does not mean a thug. We just need an intense player on defense that wants to rip the enemy's head off.

Our safeties continue to play poorly.
Roy Williams gives up too many plays.
Davis can't seem to get the right angle on any play.

I don't recall us giving up any huge passing plays since Watkins has been benched. KD is an upgrade.

Pretty sure I did, how many long td bombs did you see? I saw a run by Portis, and a pass to Cooley? How about you?

as stated in the original post, portis play about 90% davis' fault.
maybe not deep bombs, but why don't you tally up the wide open catches in the middle of the field

I agree there, Davis took a bad angle on the sweep off the left tackle, and there did seem to be quite a whole where the FS was, but I was glad to see no one getting behind him for a long TD.

Cooley was Roy's responsibility, too bad all we saw was Henry's effort to pick it up.Look at the tape if you can.
Roy had a PI called on him on the same drive.
Roy dropped a sure INT.
He had an atrocious game on pass coverage, because he is garbage on pass coverage.

The portis TD was a direct result of Ellid being overly agressive and blowing outside contain, then Randle El basicly blocked one guy into another. It was a good play I personally would like a remedy to all the penalties.

Sorry Nova, I'm not interested in investing the time and effort to count how many positive plays the Commanders had by watching game tape. However, I did look over the stat sheet for passes > 20 yds. Here they are. I don't know how many are typically given up in a single game, but for better or worse...

http://sports-att.espn.go.com/nfl/playbyplay?gameId=261105028&quarter=4

3rd and 6 at WAS 25 (13:38) M.Brunell pass short left to C.Cooley pushed ob at WAS 46 for 21 yards (K.Burnett).

1st and 10 at DAL 45 (6:22) M.Brunell pass deep middle to J.Thrash to DAL 18 for 27 yards (A.Ayodele).

1st and 10 at WAS 31 :)02) (Shotgun) M.Brunell pass short right to C.Cooley to DAL 42 for 27 yards (D.Ware).

1st and 10 at WAS 34 (10:16) M.Brunell pass deep left to B.Lloyd to DAL 29 for 37 yards (A.Henry) [D.Ware].

3rd and 7 at WAS 36 (6:59) M.Brunell pass short left to L.Betts to DAL 43 for 21 yards (A.Glenn, B.James).

Three of those were short passes or screens, and one was called back by a penalty.

If ELLIS does not lose his outside containment.....the play does not happen
