  2. Any jobs that I get to innovate.
  3. I'm working on a three location virtualization cloud.
  4. When if I get tired of it, I will. I have other boards. Until then...
  5. I'm building a rolling (/w wheel locks) platform for my large Dobsonian telescope. I'm sure my wife will figure out other stuff to do also.

5. Plans for the weekend?

1. First flight by myself when I was 13 or so....Burlington, VT to Tampa, FL.

2. I worked at a ski area for 9 years....hard to complain when you're basically paid to have fun all day.

3. Too many to list...but raising my new baby boy is at the top, for obvious reasons.

4. Not until recently....but I'm not particularly happy that we've lost so many of our best posters. The posters that have rushed in to fill their voids leave a lot to be desired IMO. I joined this place because it lacked the loudmouth opinionated know-nothings that were so prevalent on other forums....I can't say it's the same anymore. I'm exploring the idea.

5. Chores, fishing, household projects, spending quality time with the fam.

1. They all seem the same on passenger jets, so my best memory is being on a little Cessna flight over Hershey Park when I was just squirt. I'd like to get into a blimp or a chopper to see how that feels.

2. Work related - As an imaging guy for a stock photography company. I had total freedom in all I did. Non-work related - I worked at a T-Shirt company and it was like a giant hang-out. I hated doing art for T-Shirts, but the atmosphere was all play.

3. A series of oil paintings, based on Jesu/God/Biblical prophets; portraits for my family.

4. I always contemplate quitting extraneous activities I engage in. Because they take time from doing the above projects...

5. Hopefully just paint.

Cool thread.

1. Not really a flying memory, but a dream about flying. My dad had a dream where he couldn't got to an important meeting b/c he needed to attend my brother's funeral. In the dream, my brother had died that weekend in a plane crash on a pleasure trip into the Grand Canyon. IRL, it turns out my brother, at the last minute, decided not to take the trip. The plane didn't actually go down, but it almost did. The pilot said with one more additional passenger, it very likely would have.

2. I'm working it now. Lucky dog.

3. Drrr. I got nothing.

4. Until recently, I'd never have considered quitting this board. I've logged +10k posts here and have enjoyed almost every one of them. I still can't imagine leaving, but I agree with others that the board isn't what it was even a year ago. It's still the best Cowboys board around--by a fair margin--but the gap isn't as big as it once was or probably should be. We've lost a lot of talented veterans, and, while some of the recent draft picks are pretty dang good, the crop of UFAs we're trotting out now in starting positions aren't knowledgable or interesting. Is that ok to say out loud?

5. My mom's in town visiting for the weekend visiting me and the kids while the wife is in Vegas. So I see lots of Jack and smokey pool halls in my immediate future. Mom loves Jack.

5. Plans for the weekend?

I've never done one of these, but...

1. Hmm. Can't say much. Will just say vacation with best girlfriend.

2. Overhauling the entire cooling system in my old car. For the last few weeks I've been educating myself on this, as I haven't worked on a car in forever, and never was a real mechanic. But thanks to the interwebs, I understand it all and will start tonight. Been kind of fun, actually. Now if Murphys Law doesn't totally kick my butt.

3. The above, though we'll see how much forward I look to it once I start.

4. Yep. Came very close a couple of months ago on principle. Agree with the others that this board has gone way downhill, unfortunately. I'm sure many other vets agree.

5. Number two (on my list, not *that*) and playing some golf in 103* heat. Hey, it keeps the riffraff off the course. ;)

1. What's your best flying memory?

When I was young, I flew with my Grandmother to Texas to see my other grandparents and my dad. There was heavy turbulence and at one point, the plane dropped and it looked like the cabin exploded with soda and peanuts.

I'm glad I was young, because that would terrify me now.

2. What was your favorite job?

Bartending at TGI Fridays

3. What project/s are you working on/looking forward to?

I have a bunch of outdoor projects/chores that I need/want to do but the weather has been so brutal I haven't had time nor desire. Looking forward to cooler weather.

4. Do you ever contemplate quitting this board (or any other) forever? Why?

Nah. When it gets stupid, I just don't look at anything but the Off Topic Zone. I don't really visit any other boards these days.

5. Plans for the weekend?

Packing and getting ready for a trip to Atlanta. It's a business trip for Kilyin, and I'll be working, too, but it will be a little getaway for a week at any rate.

My plea last week must have worked, as my kittens got adopted by an awesome couple last weekend. She friended me on FB so I can see the kittens growing up - very happy! :)

See when I get on a plane I'm resigned to the fact that I cannot change it if it happens, so just let go of the fear.

I fear my drink spilling on me during heavy turbulence though! :laugh2:

1. Too long of a story. Trust me, it's a good one.
2. Local cafeteria during high school. Good times.
3. Does watching a lot of football count?
4. Are you nuts?
5. Work/chores/drink chocolate milk

1. What's your best flying memory?

My first when I was a freshman in high school (you read that right). It was a flight in a C-131 when I was in JROTC.

2. What was your favorite job?

Teaching college English. I tried to get into teaching in the public school system, but there's too much red tape, politics, crap salaries, and bull****. It's no wonder that about half of all new teachers leave the profession before their 5th year.

3. What project/s are you working on/looking forward to?

Fixing up my Audi A6. Lots of deferred maintenance due to my wife being unemployed for over a year.

4. Do you ever contemplate quitting this board (or any other) forever? Why?

Every time I read a whiny post about Romo's leadership skills, Witten slowing down, or some other baloney, yeah. It gets really old...

5. Plans for the weekend?

Just having fun with my son.

5. Plans for the weekend?

1. Any time the security line was less than 1/2 hour.

2. Skinning deer at age 10 for a dollar a hide. Felt like I was rich.

3. Kids are building a hovercraft

4. I barely post here any more ... my ignore list has something like 1000 people on it. Wouldn't even read here if adam didn't put info here or if Yeag, BP and a few others didn't make me laugh.

5. Depends on the rain.

This bums me out.

1. What's your best flying memory? Any time I got to fly with my Dad.

2. What was your favorite job? Firefighter.

3. What project/s are you working on/looking forward to? Two books. Plan to publish both in the next 3 months.

4. Do you ever contemplate quitting this board (or any other) forever? Why?
Yes, because I get sick and tired of being targeted for derision by people on other forums who are incapable of saying anything to my face.

5. Plans for the weekend?
Packing and church.

5. Plans for the weekend?

1. Flying on a C-17 out of Iraq is one. The other was my jump from a UH-60 Blackhawk. Riding 1200 feet above ground with your legs dangling from the side door of a helicopter is harrowing :)

2. Platoon Leader

3. Worked this summer on a complex sexual assault/spousal abuse case that will go to court-martial sometime in the near future. Also worked on two other high-profile cases that I can't talk about, but will talk about once they go public following trial.

4. No, not really.

5. Sleep, sleep, sleep. Oh, and Nationals-Mets tonight downtown.

1. What's your best flying memory? Flying back to my homeland (NY state) after my freshmen year in college. Friends, golf, fun, no studies...

2. What was your favorite job? 20 years with a great, great group of friends. It was family

3. What project/s are you working on/looking forward to? Rebuilding the Cowboys dynasty - aren't we all working on it?

4. Do you ever contemplate quitting this board (or any other) forever? Why? The trick usually is to not sweat the aggravation. Sometimes I'm successful, sometimes not. I'd be curious to see the success of two Fan Zones. One for Optimists, another for Pessimists/Realists  . I'm serious.

5. Plans for the weekend? Wife's company picnic, prep for family vacation the following week :)
