This is a reminder as to what the Cowboys are playing for tomorrow. It is always good to educate the young ones properly regarding teh greatness of this franchise.

1. This will be the UNPRECEDENTED 58th Postseason Game for the Cowboys. Yes, that is 58 postseason games in 50 years!

2. Dallas will be playing for their UNPRECEDENTED 34th postseason victory. In recent years, the Steelers have crept up to within one until the Cowboys win over the Eagles last Sunday. Right now, the cushion is two (33 to 31).

3. Dallas is 4-2 against Minnesota in the postseason. The Cowboys are 2-1 at home and 2-1 in Minnesota. Three of the four times Dallas beat Minnesota, they have gone on to the Super Bowl (Super Bowls VI, X, & XII).

4. Now that Wade Phillips has won a postseason game for Dallas, he is still on the hot seat. Every other Cowboys Head Coach that has won a playoff game has eventually gone on to win a Super Bowl. (Landry, Johnson, & Switzer)

5. A Dallas win on Sunday in Minnesota would mean that the Cowboys keep their streak alive by playing in a Conference Championship Game in every decade of their existance. This is still considered the 2009 season.

6. A Dallas win on Sunday in Minnesota would mean that Brett Favre is still winless against the Cowboys in the postseason.

7. A Dallas win on Sunday in Minnesota would mean that the Cowboys still have a shot at breaking down the FINAL WALL.

WINNING A SUPER BOWL IN MIAMI!!!!!

8. Also, courtesy of Hostile: This will be the 3rd time we have played on this calendar date. The first time was Super Bowl V against the Colts. The 2nd time was the 1992 NFC Championship against the 49ers that propelled us to Super Bowl XXVII against the Bills.

9. A win against Minnesota would also mean an UNPRECEDENTED 17th Conference Championship appearance.

Conference Championship years (victories in bold):
1966, 1967, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1977,
1978, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995.

Adding 2009 would be sweet!

10. I forgot about this one. A win against Minnesota would mean that the Vikings would have their UNPRECEDENTED 26th postseason defeat.:)

Unfortunately, a Dallas loss would join the Vikings at 25 for that infamous record.:(

I hate to say it, but postseason losses indicate that you're an above average team. I mean, would you rather have the most postseason losses or the most years not making the postseason?

Exactly. Jack Nicklaus has the most runner-up finishes of any golfer in history.
