this past weekend..

Finally got some much needed rain, but with it came thundering and lightening.

She knew the house had caught fire, but it wasn't until the next day that she saw the devastation. House was gutted.

What makes it worse is this is a fairly new subdivision so you know the owners were thinking this was their dream home. I feel for the family.

No insurance? Not that that makes up for losing your dream home.

Well look on the bright side. If there was anything they didn't like about it they will be able to change it.

I'm sure they had insurance.

But have you ever had to deal with an insurance claim?

It can be smooth or it can be a PITA. The biggest thing is all the memories that are lost.

Also, once you make a claim for a total loss like that, either your rates will skyrocket or they may choose not to renew your policy.

Might not be so bad since it was a natural disaster, but I've seen that happy to someone whose house had to be completely redone on the inside due to a fire from a cigarette butt in the trash can.

The biggest thing is they are alive but I understand what you mean.
