From Contender to chump??

Prior to 2008 the Cowboys were the favorite to represent the NFC, and possibly win the SB. Obviously with a 9-7 record (miserable last game) the Cowboys did not live up to those expectations. The Eagles finish 9-6-1 (lets not forget a tie to Cincy), great win over GMen in playoffs non withstanding, but get annoited by many as theteam to beat???? Wow look at their off season etc.... I just dont get how the Cowboys get written off as not even in the running, its like they became the Bengals???? Granted NYG and Philly are good teams, but are we that much worse??? I believe its a 3 team race, close call, but with the draft ahead, 2nd round of FA and who knows what injuries may occur, its a dogfight in the East. Media loves to just pile it on?? Guess its to be proven wrong.....

That in my view is the best thing that could happen to the Cowboys. I think many players bought into the headlines last year and were dreaming of fame and championship instead of focusing on the job at hand. Maybe this will force this team to look no further than the game in front of them

Agreed. All the hype and expectations didn't work out so well for us. I'm looking forward to a low-key offseason.

I agree and NO MORE HARD KNOCKS!!!!! I love Jerry but training camp is about getting ready for a tough long season not to be part of a TV show. Dallas will get enough camera crews at training camp as we always do and there is nothing you can do about that but you don't have to invite them in for up close and personal BS. Hell the Bennett deal I thought would never end and it was all started because of a stupid TV reality show

The Cowboys, eagles, and giants are neck and neck when it comes to the division and as we've seen winning the division doesn't necessarily mean they will be the most successful in the playoffs.

True but it is always nice to win a division and get a bye week. It does not ensure anything but it does make the road to the SB shorter and played in front of the home crowd.

True. If it wasn't for Hard Knocks, Bennett's image wouldn't have taken the early hit that it did. I enjoyed watching the show, but that was a negative aspect of it. Bennett was productive on the field and has a charming personality. Now if we could just get him to stop making videos...

All that stuff is irrelevant when it comes to play on the field. It wasn't the hype and expectation that killed this team...
