From Jerry...

There's a crummy version of the interview on YouTube now --

Audio is working just fine.

Jones looks as down as I can remember.

He looks pissed.

No kidding. That makes me happy, maybe something will actually get done. Sounds like Wade is pretty much gone, and that there will be more joining him soon.

"Don’t imply that my role is going to change at all," Jones said. "Don’t do that. You’ll get something stuck."

:bang2: The best we can hope for is that Jerry gives the new coach some Parcells-like authority

One thing that pisses me off about this right now.

Jerry's been trying to feed people a line for weeks now. Now all of a sudden he can't count the problems because he doesn't have enough fingers?

What a doofus.

It's not like there problems weren't there like 5 games ago.

I honestly think Chris Collinsworth did all Cowboys Fans a favor by railing so hard on the team tonight.

After Collinsworth basically called the Dallas team a bunch of quitters and pointed out every possible flaw, it seems to be far too much for Jerry to let slide.

The cat is out of the bag. If people know there is NO HOPE at all, people will stop going to JerryWorld and spending their hard earned cash just to watch a weekly shellacking.

The veil has been lifted. The entire nation got a serious dose of the worst team in the league and now everyone knows that it isn't some abortion. It's a flaw. A flaw that cannot be fixed and cannot be covered by votes of confidence from Jethro. Jerry knows this team is on life support and he has to pull out that shock paddles to try and keep the team alive. He knows the end is at hand but he has to give people something to look forward to and canning Wade and promising change is about all he can do.

***Real Men Of Genius***

Today we salute you, "Mr. Way Too Optimistic Meddling GM/Owner".

Like potpourri, you cover up even the foulest of smelling situations with your verbal conglomerate of imitation rose petals......lemon balm leaves......and a hint of cinnamon.

Say one thing this week and another the next. We'd call you two-faced but odds are you've had many more plastic surgeries than that.

Precognitively drop your teams 1-7 record when they are really 1-6? Not to worry, you've got a few more winks and cryptic answers waiting for the first reporter to call you on it.

So crack open an ice cold Bud Light ol' seller of the snake oil...because even when your glass is half empty, you had us convinced it was three quarters full.

Jerry, any team that plays this coach less bunch is going to appear to play well.
It's easy to play well when your opponents are human cones.

I guess you can save this speech and repeat it the rest of the way.

Two things that I resent.

1. The focus on Jerry holding others accountable, as if Jerry is not personally responsible for the current situation.

2. A focus on Jerry's emotional state ... Jerry's emotions are not the issue. Jerry's competence .... to serve as a responsible steward of this franchise. That's the issue.

:laugh2: Nice job. Funny and clever. We need more of that on this board.

I can't remember a worse year to watch this team. They at least played for Landry in 88. 89 was an obvious down year with no talent, but they gave it everything they had or they knew they would face Jimmy Johnson. Even in Campo's years, they actually went out and played hard every week.

What an embarrassing group of players, coaches and front office. I really wish this year's group wasn't putting their stink on the Star.

Same guy who after we lost the Eagles game back on December 28, 2008 told us (Everyone, starting here, with me, goes to the woodshed)

Well he stubbornly kept head coach Wade Phillips in place and he is paying the price for it now with even a worse humiliation.

I think our problem is Jerry himself and changing coaches will not help much

Yes, but that was only apparent to the "Chicken Little" crowd at that point. Jerry and Wade rode the talent assembled by the previous coaching staff into the ground in a little over 3 seasons. As was the case with the three prior puppet regimes, this team was holding it together on their own despite the d league coaching staff and it finally came unraveled - badly.

Ouch.

Lets see these consequences Jerry.

It's currently 11:00 where you're at. Butt chewings should not have to wait until the afternoon.

I blame Jerry alone for this mess. He did the same garbage w/ the 2009 draft that he did when we tanked after our SuperBowl run. Have you ever seen another GM say that they drafted for backups or to get better on Special Teams? Who does this? Our talent now is completely watered down. Even our garbage starters don't fear losing their jobs. Just give the GM job to your son already and enjoy the beach in your retirement years. The worst part of this is you know Jerry has too big an ego to walk away on the bottom. So he will continue to think that he alone can fix this.

I wonder when exactly he's gonna start doing all this stuff he said he'd do. Or did he mean, I'll do all that stuff... in about 9 more weeks.

Jerry will never realize that he is the root of the Cowboys problems.
