I have no clue how this guy is not on a NFL team. I have no clue how he was never brought up to the 53 while he was in Dallas considering how bad the passrush was. He might not say him being gay is the reason he is not on a NFL roster, but i know he doesnt believe it. But saying it, would hurt him even more.

I have no idea how he can be undrafted when a guy who is the same player with less stats in Shane Ray is considered a top 5 pick. Media knew about his story before it was let out, and im sure it was leaked to NFL teams.

My apathy rages

Tim Tebow says hi. He dominated in college and just didn't have the skill set to compete in the NFL according to those that make the decisions. You can look for ulterior motives if you wish, but on face value they simply may not be good enough.

I think QB is a bad comparison though. The game is predicated around the QB and he has to be able to play the style of football that is expected. Go watch high school football around the country. You have QBs who are the best athletes on their teams leading them to state championships. Then they switch to WR or CB in college. But a pass rusher is a pass rusher is a pass rusher. If you can get to the QB, you have a place in the NFL. Sam was able to get to the QB in college. That's not saying he would have been able to in the NFL. I'm just saying it's bad to compare a pass rusher to a QB.

He's just not that good of a player. If he was he would have been brought up. His orientation has nothing to do with him not being on a roster. He had 2 different chances...

I'm confused. Is this quoted from a news source or is this just a rant from the OP? It says "from Newsfeed."

Not sure what is being said here. Is this saying Sam should be on an NFL team despite the fact that the NFL teams that had him cut him?

Although that doesn't mean he won't become an NFL contributor, it appears to mean that he's not good enough right now to be one.

If he (or anyone) believes that's because he's gay, I think they're reaching for an explanation that fits what they believe instead of what the evidence shows. The Rams and Cowboys gave Sam a shot and he couldn't crack their rosters. He's hurting himself if he turns that into a gay issue instead of motivation to become a better player.

Yeah there is an article in the Newszone from NewsBot about Sam. He says he doesn't feel his orientation has anything to do with him not being on a roster.

Which is clearly evidence that it's exactly why he isn't on a roster.

Totally agree and to his credit he said being cut by the Cowboys had nothing to do with his sexual orientation.

If he could play be an effective pass rusher (not even every down) he'd be celebrated right now in Dallas. Coaches know exactly what they're looking for in a skill set and they saw him every day in practice, if he could play he would be here - or somewhere.

I think Sam will go to camp with some team this year, the fact he didn't sign a futures contract may have more to do with waiting for the right shot and being able to make a lot more money in media and endorsements over the summer than being on someone's 90 man roster.

I can't imagine a scenario in which the Cowboys would bring him in and put him on the practice squad, but not elevate him to 53 because of his sexual orientation. I mean, they brought him in and put him on the practice squad, if they had a problem with him being gay that wouldn't have happened. Unless they thought the gay was just a fad and he was going to grow out of it I can't imagine why they figured the practice squad was good enough for him but not the 53, assuming it had to do with sexual orientation. I think I'll go with the simpler explanation - he just wasn't a good enough player to be elevated, they gave him a look and determined that he wasn't going to be able to help the team.

I believe if Rod could have used him he would. Soon as the Rice video broke all the attention came off Sam. Maybe he's just not good enough and nothing sinister is going on.

That could never be. Society is just a bunch of prudes and of course a billiondollar business is biased. They dont want to win, they want to be a hetero club.

If he were good enough he would play. How many kids each year just dont make it and dont have an excuse to fall back on.

Sometimes people expect the worst in others so they put it there if its not. But I agree hes just not good enough. Isnt the first to deal with it, wont be the last. You just wont hear about 99% of those who dont make it cause no news to stir up.

You think Michael Sam and Shane Ray are the same player? How so?

If there was a guy in the draft who was the consensus, sure fire, guaranteed second coming of Lawrence Taylor he could wear a princess dress with butterfly wings to the draft and he'd still go number 1.

I just can't imagine that these GMs and coaches would be willing to risk their jobs by taking lesser talent just because of a guy's sexual orientation. Lesser talent loses games, losing games loses jobs. And those jobs aren't easy to find.
